1. Protego ( pro-TAY-goh )
Mantra pelindung, dimana dari namanya saja "Protego" mantra ini memiliki efek sebagai mantra perlindungan yang akan menghalau segala jenis serangan mantra dan juga benda-benda fisik yang dilemparkan ke arah kita.
Hanya ada satu mantra yang tidak bisa dihalau oleh Protego yaitu Avada Kedavra.
Mantra protego ini ada banyak variasinya, yaitu Protego Duo, protego horribilis, Protego Totallum dan Protego Maxima.
2. Reducio
Reducio adalah mantra untuk mengecilkan benda yang sudah diperbesar.
Berasal dari bahasa Latin reducio (mengembalikan ke asalnya).
3. Stupefy (STEW-puh-fye)
efeknya adalah untuk membius target/makhluk hidup atau menghentikan gerakan (benda mati).
Spell ini umum sekali digunakan dalam duel, karena jika target kena mantra ini otomatis kemenangan berada di tangan pemantra.
Efek mantra ini bisa diatasi dengan 'rennervate' dan sebenarnya seperti halnya obat bius muggle, efek akan menghilang seiring berjalannya waktu.
Perlu diketahui, semakin banyak target terkena mantra bius, maka efeknya akan semakin kuat. Orang yang kena 2-3 mantra Stupefy sekaligus maka durasi pingsannya pun akan lebih lama dibandingkan dengan yang cuma kena 1 mantra Stupefy.
