Primary hepatic squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare, highly aggressive liver cancer that is associated with intrahepatic stone, liver cirrhosis, hepatic cyst, and Caroli's disease. At present, there are no settled therapy guidelines for primary hepatic SCC. Patients with successful surgical resection have a tumor-free survival of approximately 6 to 9 months.(1,2) Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are a promising treatment for multiple tumor types, with significant efficacy and manageable toxicity.(3).Enantioresolution processes are vital tools for investigating the enantioselectivities of chiral compounds. An analyst resolves to optimize enantioresolution conditions once they are determined. Generally, optimization is conducted by a one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) approach. Although this approach may determine an adequate condition for the method, it does not often allow the estimation of the real optimum condition. Experimental designs are conducive for the optimization of enantioresolution methods via capillary electromigration techniques (CETs). They can efficiently extract information from the behavior of a method and enable the estimation of the real optimum condition. Furthermore, the application of the analytical quality by design (AQbD) approach to the development of CET-based enantioselective methods is a trend. This article (i) offers an overview of the application of experimental designs to the development of enantioselective methods from 2015 to mid-2020, (ii) reveals the experimental designs that are presently employed in CET-based enantioresolutions, and (iii) offers a critical point of view on how the different experimental designs can aid the optimization of enantioresolution processes by considering the method parameters.
To assess occupational lens exposure in a mixed interventional radiology department, comparing pediatric and adult procedures. To analyze the correlation between the lens dose and the doses measured at the chest and collar level and the kerma-area product (P
).
For 17months, three radiologists performing both pediatric and adult interventions were monitored by means of 14 dosimeters per worker 12 single-point optically stimulated luminescent (OSL) dosimeters calibrated in terms of H
(0.07) were placed on the inside and outside of two pairs of lead glasses, one for pediatric procedures and one for adult interventions; another whole-body OSL dosimeter calibrated in terms of H
(10) was placed over the thyroid shield; finally, an additional active solid-state dosimeter, also calibrated for H
(10), was worn on the chest, over the apron. Furthermore, a database was created to register the demographic and dosimetric data of the procedures, as well as the name of the radiologist acting as first operator.
he lens dose is recommended, given lens exposure might easily exceed 6mSv/yr. Using a collar dosimeter for this purpose might be suitable if it is preceded by an individualized regression analysis. The same radiation protection measures should be applied to interventional radiologists regardless of whether they are treating pediatric or adult patients.
There is real risk of exceeding the occupational dose limit to the eye lens in mixed interventional radiology rooms if radiation protection tools are not used properly. Regular monitoring of the lens dose is recommended, given lens exposure might easily exceed 6 mSv/yr. Using a collar dosimeter for this purpose might be suitable if it is preceded by an individualized regression analysis. The same radiation protection measures should be applied to interventional radiologists regardless of whether they are treating pediatric or adult patients.
Quantification of left ventricular (LV) volume, ejection fraction and myocardial mass from multi-slice multi-phase cine MRI requires accurate segmentation of the LV in many images. We propose a stack attention-based convolutional neural network (CNN) approach for fully automatic segmentation from short-axis cine MR images.
To extract the relevant spatiotemporal image features, we introduce two kinds of stack methods, spatial stack model and temporal stack model, combining the target image with its neighboring images as the input of a CNN. A stack attention mechanism is proposed to weigh neighboring image slices in order to extract the relevant features using the target image as a guide. Based on stack attention and standard U-Net, a novel Stack Attention U-Net (SAUN) is proposed and trained to perform the semantic segmentation task. A loss function combining cross-entropy and Dice is used to train SAUN. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated on an internal and a public dataset using technicaention mechanism to automatically segment the LV chamber and myocardium from the multi-slice short-axis cine MRI. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach exceeds existing state-of-the-art segmentation methods and verify its potential clinical applicability.
We developed a CNN with a stack attention mechanism to automatically segment the LV chamber and myocardium from the multi-slice short-axis cine MRI. USP25/28 inhibitor AZ1 The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach exceeds existing state-of-the-art segmentation methods and verify its potential clinical applicability.Once a routine part of atrial fibrillation (AF) management, digoxin use has declined. Likely hastening this decline are findings from several studies and systematic reviews identifying a potential association between digoxin use and all-cause mortality in AF populations. However, inconsistency exists within some of these studies potentially leading to confusion among clinicians. To critically evaluate the current literature to contextualize the associations between digoxin and mortality risk in patients with AF by performing an overview of systematic reviews. We searched MEDLINE, Cochrane Central Database of Systematic Reviews, and SCOPUS from their earliest date through October 12, 2020, to identify systematic reviews (SRs) that included studies enrolling patients with AF or atrial flutter and evaluated the association between digoxin use and all-cause mortality. We used the AMSTAR 2 tool to assess the risk of bias for each included SR. Results from reviews are qualitatively synthesized. Our search identified 10 SRs that met our inclusion criteria.
