To evaluate the effectiveness of four novel and pragmatic interventions on the restricted range of motion (ROM) of shoulder joint in healthy subjects.
The study was conducted at Helping Hand Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Mansehra, in 6-months duration. This quasi-experimental study recruited 120 young subjects with an equal proportion of males and females for four novel intervention groups (n=30 each group) including pragmatic posterior capsular stretch, Serratus anterior stretch, rotator cuff facilitation and acromioclavicular joint mobilization. Study variables included measurement of Reaching up behind the back (RUBTB), Reaching down behind the neck (RDBTN), and shoulder range of motion (flexion, abduction, external rotation, internal rotation). The paired t-test was used for the change in pretest and posttest variables and the Kruskal Wallis test was used to compare the change in each group of interventions.
All the variables improved significantly (p< 0.05) from their baseline scores for the interventions. The mean difference among the intervention groups for the variables was statistically significant (p<0.001) on the Kruskal Wallis test. Pragmatic posterior capsular stretch (PPCS) and serratus anterior stretch (SAS) improved the RUBTB and RDBTN more than the other interventions. Rotator cuff facilitation (RFC) improved shoulder rotation more than the rest of the intervention. Acromioclavicular joint mobilization (ACJM) was effective in improving the abduction and flexion ROM.
Pragmatic interventions are effective in improving shoulder ROM in young healthy adults and recommended for the trials on prevention and rehabilitation of shoulder pathologies.

Although gestational diabetes is the most common metabolic disease in pregnancy some pregnant women still refuse to undergo oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the behavior of pregnant women undergoing OGTT, and to compare perinatal results between women who undergo and refuse OGTT.
This retrospective cohort study was performed by evaluating the data of Izmir Katip Celebi University Gynecology and Obstetrics outpatient clinic between 2012-2017. Data of 2079 pregnant were evaluated retrospectively. Among 373 women who refused OGTT were evaluated as the study group, while remaining 1706 women who underwent OGTT were considered as the control group. The groups were compared with regard to perinatal results.
Sixty-two point four percent of the group who refused OGTT had a C-section, while 56.3% of the control group had a C-section (p<0.05). Intrauterine growth retardation, fetal distress, amniotic fluid pathologies, macrosomia, gestational hypertension and perinatal death were slightly higher in pregnant women who did not undergo OGTT compared to the control group, however, the difference was not statistically significant.
Maternal complications and poor pregnancy results were found slightly higher in pregnant women who refused OGTT. These results might be explained by assuring glycemic control in pregnant women who refused OGTT by a series of fasting and postprandial blood sugar measurements in our center.

To evaluate the clinical value of radiotherapy combined with Camrelizumab in treating locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.
80 locally advanced NSCLC patients were randomly divided into two groups (n=40). The control group was administered with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), whereas the experimental group with Camrelizumab in addition to IMRT. All the patients underwent clinical efficacy evaluation in terms of adverse drug reaction (ADR), physical status improvement after the treatment, and changes in T lymphocyte subpopulations (incl. CD3
, CD4
, CD8
, CD4
/CD8
).
The efficacy was found to be 70% and 47.5 in experimental group and control group, respectively, with the former being significantly better than the latter (p=0.03). The ADR rates were 50% and 37.5% in the experimental group and control group, respectively; but the difference remained insignificant (p=0.26). As for physical status improvement, experimental group evidently excelled the control group (p=0.04). The post-treatment indicators such as CD3
, CD4
, CD8
, CD4
/CD8
were significantly more improved in the experimental group than the control group (CD3
, p=0.02; CD4
, p=0.00; and CD4
/CD8
, p=0.01). However, the changes in CD8+ were not significant at all (p=0.46).
The combined therapy of IMRT with Camrelizumab appeared effective in dealing with the locally advanced NSCLC patients, as such patients presented significantly better immune state and physical status improvement but not increased ADR. The therapy is both safe and effective.

Nutritional status is considered a significant and positive health indicator. It determines anthropometric measurements of preschool children, the height of children at the time of school entry and prevalence of low birth weight. The objective of the study was to determine the frequency of nutritional status and socio-demographic factors influencing under nutrition among school children of rural Islamabad.
A cross-sectional study was conducted among school children of the age (4-16 years) from January 2017 to September 2019. The Sample size was 1710. Schools were selected through convenient sampling technique. Frequency and percentages were calculated and inferential statistics were computed to analyze the association of health status with categorical variables by using chi-square by keeping the level of significance <0.05 through SPSS version 20.
The mean age of the sample was 9.38 ± 4.14 with the maximum number of children (49.1%) in the age bracket of 5-9. Out of 1710 children, 54.4% had normal wedents of younger age groups. School health programs and nutritional interventions need to be strengthened particularly in rural areas of Islamabad.
Taking the determination of
gene by polymerized chain reaction (PCR) method as a reference in determining methicillin resistance in
species, we aimed at comparing the reliability levels of disk diffusion, latex agglutination test and chromogenic agar use methods.
This prospective study was conducted on 228
strains isolated between January 2020 and December 2020 in Samsun Training and Research Hospital. Disk diffusion, latex agglutination and chromogen agar medium methods were applied along with the polymerized chain reaction (PCR) method.
The
gene was detected in 47 of the isolates (20.6%) by the PCR method, and these isolates were accepted as methicillin-resistant. When the PCR result was taken as a reference, the sensitivity of the disk diffusion method became 100%, and specificity became 45.9%; sensitivity of latex agglutination was determined as 80.9%, and specificity as 70.2%; sensitivity of chromogenic agar as 85.1% and its specificity was found to be 95%. Only in
isolates, the highest sensitivity and specificity rate (100% and 88%, respectively) belonged to chromogenic agar.
Chromogenic agar provides more reliable data for
isolates, and the combined use of all three methods does not significantly increase reliability.

To explore current aphasia assessment practices and barriers among Pakistani speech language pathologists.
Descriptive study design with qualitative parameters was used. Participants were identified using purposive sampling over a period of eight months from 1st December 2018 to 31st July 2019. Sample comprised of ten speech-language pathologists with least five years' experience of working with aphasic clients from four major cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. Study included in depth interviews using a self-structured interview guide with probe questions. Data recorded was transcribed and thematic analyses were drawn manually.
Thematic analysis revealed that most Speech language pathologists rely heavily on informal assessment techniques. With no aphasia assessment tool available in Urdu language, no consensus as to the optimal evaluation strategy or tool for aphasia assessment was noted. However, need for such tool was highlighted by all participants. read more Hence, non-availability of standardized and culturally appropriate assessment tool in "Urdu" language turned out to be the major barrier in adopting formal assessment for aphasic clients, while time consumed in formal testing remained second most reported issue.
There is a dire need of quick aphasia assessment tool in Urdu language with established psychometric properties and culturally appropriate norms.

To investigate the efficacy of combined detection of 5 serological tumor markers including macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and abnormal prothrombin (PIVKA-II) in the early diagnosis of primary liver cancer.
A total of 90 patients with suspected primary liver cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to May 2017 were selected as the research subjects. All patients were examined by imaging and histopathology. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect serum MIF, GP73 and PIVKA-II. Automatic electrochemiluminescence immunoassay system was used to detect serum AFP and AFP-L3. The diagnostic value of single and combined detection of five serological tumor markers for primary liver cancer was compared and analyzed.
Of the 90 suspected patients with primary liver cancer, thirty-seven were excluded and 53 were confirmed. From serum MIF diagnosis, fifty-three patients had positive results for primary liver cancer, of which eight had false positive results, with a sensitivitsis of 5 serological tumor markers, fifty-three patients had positive results for primary liver cancer, of which one had a false positive result, with a sensitivity of 98.11%, a specificity of 97.30%, and an accuracy of 97.78%, respectively. Combined diagnosis has significantly higher sensitivity, specificity and accuracy than a single diagnosis (P<0.05).
Serum MIF, GP73, PIVKA-II, AFP-L3 and AFP all have certain diagnostic value for primary liver cancer; the combined detection of five serological tumor markers can significantly improve the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the diagnosis of primary liver cancer, with higher diagnostic value.
