We will have more information and technical requirements to share in the coming months. Naturally, we want your feedback through every step of this process. This is why we're planning to allow you to test the new ray-tracing features by turning on "Optional graphics with RTX" in the settings screen of Minecraft in a future beta. We'll be releasing to see this feature available in the next year. We are also planning to enable some of these features, including better lighting and directional illumination for other Bedrock platforms. Speaking of which...
RENDER DRAGON
The Minecraft Bedrock platforms change in the months ahead as we discover the capabilities of our beautiful new game engine, Render Dragon. You might have seen a preview of Render Dragon in action if you watched Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference on-stage when we demonstrated Minecraft Earth.
It featured edge highlighting and new lighting techniques. This is only the beginning of the performance and visual enhancements we're planning to make with Render Dragon. Render Dragon supports a range of features for graphics, based on what your device is capable of. Not all devices support ray tracing, but we will have some graphics enhancements available on the majority of devices. Again, it's all about making the most of different hardware to offer the most smooth Minecraft experience possible regardless of the device you're playing on!
