Moreover, the porous feature of free-standing nanosheets on nickel foam could benefits catalytic performances by accelerating charge transport and releasing bubbles rapidly. This work proposes a bifunctional catalyst system with the heterogeneous interface, which could be used in a sustainable green energy system. We investigated the dynamical behaviors of an all-permalloy structured spin-torque nano-oscillator (STNO) composed of a nanostripe with in-plane magneto-anisotropy (IMA) and a free magnetized nanopillar in the absence of a non-magnetic spacer via a micro-magnetic simulation. It is found the newly-devised STNO exhibits two stable precession modes of magnetization in the nanopillar out-of-plane precession mode (OPP mode) and in-plane precession mode (IPP mode) under varying applied DC current densities. The switching between the two modes is generated in a certain current density, depending on geometries of the nanopillar as well as the nanostripe. Given a special nanopillar geometry, both modes demonstrate stable oscillation properties in a certain range of current densities. Pulsed magnetic field can effectively realize transformation of the two modes under application of a proper current density. The realization of synchronous oscillations to significantly enhance the output power is verified in this new type of STNO by etching plenty of nanopillars on the nanostripe to build STNOs array.Electrochemical sensor has great potential in the detection of small molecules by virtues of low cost, fast response, and easy to miniaturization. However, electrochemical sensing of ochratoxin A (OTA) was seriously hindered by the heavy electrode-fouling effect and poor electrochemical activity inherent from OTA molecular. Herein, two-dimensional titanium carbide (2D Ti3C2) MXene incorporated with carboxylic multiwalled carbon nanotubes (cMWCNTs) was developed as a glassy carbon electrode modifier for rapid and sensitive detection of OTA. Physical characterizations combined with electrochemical techniques revealed that cMWCNTs can not only prevent the restacking of 2D Ti3C2nanosheets but also facile its electron transfer, leading to a nanohybrid with a high specific surface and good electrocatalytic activity to OTA. Under optimal conditions, the electrochemical sensor showed a good linear response to OTA in a concentration range from 0.09 to 10μmol·l-1and a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.028μmol·l-1. The proposed sensor was impelled successive times to detect OTA, a good repeatability was obtained, indicating the constructed sensor possessed good anti-fouling property. Moreover, satisfactory recoveries between 91.8% and 103.2% were obtained in the real sample analysis of grape and beer, showing that the developed sensing technique is reliable for the screening of trace OTA in food resources.Spin textures with nontrivial topology, such as vortices and skyrmions, have attracted attention as a source of unconventional magnetic, transport, and optical phenomena. Recently, a new generation of topological spin textures has been extensively studied in itinerant magnets; in contrast to the conventional ones induced, e.g., by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction in noncentrosymmetric systems, they are characterized by extremely short magnetic periods and stable even in centrosymmetric systems. Here we review such new types of topological spin textures with particular emphasis on their stabilization mechanism. Focusing on the interplay between charge and spin degrees of freedom in itinerant electron systems, we show that itinerant frustration, which is the competition among electron-mediated interactions, plays a central role in stabilizing a variety of topological spin crystals including a skyrmion crystal with unconventional high skyrmion number, meron crystals, and hedgehog crystals. We also show that the essential ingredients in the itinerant frustration are represented by bilinear and biquadratic spin interactions in momentum space. This perspective not only provides a unified understanding of the unconventional topological spin crystals but also stimulates further exploration of exotic topological phenomena in itinerant magnets.Transport in GaN-based nanoscale devices is of supreme importance for various applications. While the transport in bulk and two-dimensional (2D) structures is relatively well understood, understanding one-dimensional (1D) transport is still at its nascent stage. More importantly, the nanoscale structures may not operate at an explicit dimension of 2D and 1D. The understanding of the transport becomes limited on such an occasion. Here, we investigate the evolution of low-field mobility in GaN-based nanostructures for increasing quantum confinement in a uniform framework. We have used a split-gate architecture to change the degree of quantum confinement electrostatically. The low-field mobility is experimentally determined, which is then matched using scattering theory. It is shown that acoustic phonon, polar optical phonon, and scattering from piezoelectric fields dominate these devices. Contrary to intuition, the piezoelectric fields play the most determining role in low-field regimes. In addition, the evolving density of states and 2D phonon confinement, in addition to electron confinement, lead to a non-monotonic change in mobility. A decrease in the number of states near conduction band minima tends to increase mobility by reducing the number of final scattering states for the electrons. A larger overlap between confined electrons and phonons aggravates scattering and reduces mobility. These two competing effects can lead to many possible values for mobility during device operation.InGaAs/graphene Schottky photodiode has a low Schottky barrier height (SBH) which induces high dark current density. In this paper, an Al2O3thin film is inserted between the layer of InGaAs and graphene to suppress the dark current density for nearly two orders of magnitude. As a result, it is a distinct enhancement on the performance that the graphene/Al2O3/InGaAs near-infrared photodetector (NIR PD) under -0.4 V has a better responsivity of 523.77 mA W-1and a better detectivity of 4.42 × 1010cm Hz1/2/W to 1064 nm incident light than the graphene/InGaAs NIR PD. Moreover, graphene/Al2O3/InGaAs NIR PD also has a great response to 1550 nm incident light and the degradation on the device was observed. With the calculation, an increase of 0.122 eV on the Schottky barrier height (SBH) of graphene/Al2O3/InGaAs was founded. The result is expected to promote the application of the graphene NIR PD to the novel sensors.Nano- and microstructures of silicon (Si) exhibit electric and magnetic Mie resonances in the optical regime, providing a novel platform for controlling light at the nanoscale and enhancing light-matter interactions. In this Review, we present recent development of colloidal Si nanoparticles (NPs) that have wide range of applications in nanophotonics. Following brief summary of synthesis methods of amorphous and crystalline Si particles with high sphericity, optical responses of single Si particles placed on a substrate are overviewed. Then, the capability as a nanoantenna to control light-matter interactions is discussed in different systems. Finally, collective optical responses of Si NPs in solution are presented and the application potentials are discussed.
To investigate the protective effect and mechanism of allicin on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (MI/R) injury.
We investigated the mechanisms by which allicin attenuated the MI/R injury by focusing on phosphoinositide 3-kinase, G protein coupled receptor kinases 2, phospholipase Cγ and cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Sixty male mice were randomly assigned into three groups repeated MI/R (model), sham-operated (control), and MI/R+ allicin group (allicin). Ultrasound examination was used to examine the cardiac function. Masson staining was used to evaluate the myocardial infarct area. TUNEL assay was performed to examine the anti-apoptotic effect of allicin. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and pathways were analyzed by mRNA microarray analysis. Immunofluorescence staining and western blot were carried out to detect the effect of allicin on the PI3K. A pan-PLC activator, m-3M3FBS, was applied to investigate whether allicin induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis was via the GRK2/PLC/IP3R signaling pathway.
Masson staining and the TUNEL assay revealed that allicin reduced infarct size and played an anti-apoptotic role in M/IR. Ultrasound examination revealed that allicin improved cardiac function after M/IR injury. Gene ontology analysis indicated that the calcium signaling pathway and PI3KCA(PI3K) were selected. Immunofluorescence staining and western blot exposed that PI3K was activated by allicin during MI/R injury. Fura-2AM staining revealed that the PI3K -mediated GRK2/PLC-γ/IP3R pathway may be involved in the protective effect of allicin on MI/R injury.
Allicin has a protective effect on MI/R injury. This effect might be associated with the inhibition of Ca
overload-induced apoptosis and the inhibition of the PI3K -mediated GRK2/PLC-γ/IP3R signaling pathway.

This study aimed to explore the clinical benefits of using the wearable device and to examine associated factors, utilization patterns on health status. 319 community-living adults aged 50-85 years were enrolled and clinically followed for 12 months. Eeyarestatin 1 Participants were categorized into 3 groups based on the wearable device utilization patterns (active >30 days of use, non-active less then 3 days of use, usual 3-30 days of use). 128 (40.1%) and 98(30.7%) were active and usual wearable device users, and no significant differences in the baseline demographic characteristics and functional status were noted across groups. Higher cognitive performance was significantly associated with the wearable device use (OR 1.3,95%CI 1.1-1.5, p=0.005). Multivariable linear regression showed that 0.16 m/s increase in walking speed among active users, which was significantly higher than non-active users (p=0.034). Compared to usual users, active users had higher average daily, weekday, and holiday step counts. The walking speed increased for 0.03 m/s when participants walked 1,000 more daily step counts (p=0.020). Active use of wearable devices substantially increased walking speed, which suggested better functional outcomes and survival benefits in the future. The sensitivity (Sen) of classic biomarkers for the diagnosis of testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) is currently low. Previous studies have shown the diagnostic potential of microRNAs (miRNAs) for TGCTs; however, the results of these studies are inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate their diagnostic value. PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases were systematically searched until September 30, 2020 and 18 trials from 11 studies involving 2,068 participants were included in this meta-analysis. Using a bivariate mixed-effects meta-analysis model, the pooled Sen, specificity (Spe), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and area under the curve (AUC) with 95% confidence interval values of total miRNAs were 0.83 (0.73-0.90), 0.95 (0.89-0.98), 15.79 (7.41-33.66), 0.18 (0.11-0.29), 87.13 (41.99-180.82), and 0.95 (0.93-0.97), respectively; however, the observed values of single miR-371a-3p were 0.
