Greater death involving tropical tree baby plants during the severe 2015-16 El Niño.
10 (CI 1.24-7.75), p=0,02. Delivery time was significantly (p < 0.001) shortened to 38 weeks (27-41), compared to 40 weeks (38-42) GH mothers. There was no distinction in median age for PE and GH mothers (p = 0.124). The overall clinical status of neonates was proportional despite the mother's PE. The sum of Apgar points in the first, and then the second to third minute, did not differ significantly, p = 0.370 and 0.560, respectively. The number of peripheral blood platelets and leucocytes was not reduced (p = 0.821 and 0.534) in infants when the mother suffered from PE.

Fetal growth restriction is associated with chronic fetal hypoxia, poor perinatal outcome and increased perinatal mortality. There are no reliable methods to detect cell damage in the central nervous system (CNS) in these patients. The findings of increased an acidic calcium-binding protein (S100B) concentration in biological fluids of infants after brain injury have supported the use of S100B as a biochemical marker of CNS damage. The purpose of the study was to assess blood S100B concentrations in small for gestational age (SGA) and appropriate for gestational age (AGA) newborns and to evaluate the usefulness of S100B for early detection of hypoxia.

The investigation was carried out between November 2011 and April 2014. Serum S100B protein level was assessed in cord blood collected from newborns after birth. Medical records of mothers of neonates studied were reviewed for pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH), preeclampsia, maternal smoking during pregnancy and abnormalities in umbilical artery (UA) Doppler ultrasound examination.

The study was carried out in 88 SGA neonates and 80 AGA neonates. The median value of S100B protein concentration in the SGA study group was significantly higher than in AGA controls (p < 0.001). Cord blood serum S100B concentration in SGA neonates with prenatal normal UA Doppler ultrasound findings (n = 32) did not differ from that SGA neonates with abnormal prenatal UA Doppler findings (n = 25) (p = 0.74), but was significantly higher than in AGA newborns (p < 0.001).

Elevated S100B protein levels in cord blood collected from SGA newborns may be helpful in detecting infants at higher risk of postnatal neurologic disturbances at an early stage.

Application of Apgar scores (AS) and umbilical cord blood acid-base analysis is a base for the prediction of future neurological development in children. In clinical practice we often observe huge discrepancy between clinical and biochemical status of newborn. Because many obstetricians consider both assessments as substitute and measure of their proceeding's outcome, we decided to scientifically measure actual correlation between them among newborns born with Apgar less than 8 points.

This was an observational retrospective study. The study included 141 newborns born in general medium and severe condition (Apgar < 8 points in first minute of life). Acid-base analysis of umbilical cord vein blood immediately after birth was performed. We correlated gasometer parameters with Apgar scores of newborns.

The clinical condition of a newborn at 1, 5, and 10 minutes after birth correlates positively and significantly with pH values (0.25; 0.24; and 0.26; respectively) and bicarbonate levels (0.21; 0.27; 0.28f invasiveness of respiratory support activities for newborns after birth.
It is currently unknown that how pregnant women deal with the Coronavirus disease and its results. The aim of this study is to evaluate the psychological impact of the coronavirus pandemic on pregnant women and to determine whether pregnant women have sufficient knowledge and awareness for a healthy antenatal process.

This study was conducted at two centers. Regardless of the gestational age, a questionnaire was distributed to 1003 pregnant women in total, from which 51 original questions we prepared. Five hundred twenty-six participants were included in the study. The questionnaire was delivered using the QR code method. The questionnaires were answered online by participants via SurveyMonkey.

The period when anxiety was highest was the 2nd trimester, whereas women in the 1st trimester had the lowest level of anxiety. High levels of awareness were observed in patients with heart disease, but patients with diabetes mellitus had a high level of anxiety.

S It is important to maintain the mental and physical health of pregnant women, who are in a more delicate condition than other individuals in the society. In this regard, healthcare professionals have important duties such as taking necessary precautions and explaining the seriousness of the situation to pregnant women.

s There is a need for markers to facilitate the diagnosis of preeclampsia, one of the most chief causes of maternal and infant mortality. Preeclampsia causes damage to the glomeruli and vascular endothelium in pregnant women. Podocalyxin is a sialoglycoprotein found in both glomeruli and vascular endothelium. In this study, we investigated the levels of podocalyxin in preeclampsia, and studied its potential to predict preeclampsia.

Women admitted to the Health Sciences University Derince Training and Research Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology between February-November 2018 due to high direct blood and diagnosed with preeclampsia according to the 2013 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists criteria were included in the study. The control group consisted of healthy volunteers having similar demographic features ‎(gestational week, gravida, parity, and age) with the preeclampsia group. The main outcome variable was serum podocalyxin levels.

‎The mean (± SD) podocalyxin levels of the study and control groups were 124.15 ± ‎39.63 ng/mL and ‎71.47 ± ‎16.86 ng/mL, respectively (‎t = 7.845‎, ‎p < 0.001‎). Using a cut-off of 91.7123, podocalyxin could predict preeclampsia with 90% sensitivity and 98% specificity. Furthermore, podocalyxin levels were significantly higher than the normotensive participants in both early (‎14‎‎3.81‎ ± ‎5‎‎1.96 ng/mL‎ vs. ‎75.‎‎35 ± ‎1‎‎9.36 ng/mL‎) and late-onset (‎11‎‎0.22 ± ‎1‎‎9.11 ng/mL‎ vs ‎68.‎‎26 ± ‎1‎‎4.13 ng/mL‎) preeclampsia (p < 0.001).

Serum podocalyxin levels increase in preeclampsia. We conclude that podocalyxin is a candidate for predicting preeclampsia.

To analyze intraoperative and postoperative complications according to Clavian-Dindo Classification (CDC) and evaluate the influence of clinicopathological features on the feasibility and safety of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) in patients that underwent surgery in a tertiary center.

We retrospectively reviewed the database of 469 patients that underwent surgery for patients who underwent extra facial TLH from 2013 to 2020.

A total of 86 (18.3%) peri-postoperative complications were observed. The incidence of intraoperative complications was 2% (n = 10). The overall conversion rate to open surgery was 1.9% (n = 9). A total of 76 postoperative complications were observed in 61 patients (14.3%). The incidence of minor (Grade I [n = 16, 3.4%] and II [n = 42, 8.9%]) and major complications (Grade III [n = 15, 3.2%], IV [n = 2, 0.4%] and V [n = 1, 0.2 %]) were 12.3% and 3.8%, respectively. A higher BMI and performing surgery at the first step of learning are found to be associated with intraoperative and postoperative complications (p < 0.05). Postoperative complications related to having a history of the cesarean section, additional comorbidities, and uterine weight ≥ 300 g (p < 0.05).

The implementation of TLH by experienced surgeons appears to have remarkable advantages over open surgery. However, the risk factor for complications should be taken into account by surgeons in the learning curve in selecting the appropriate patient for surgery.

Ovarian cancer remains a very common cause of death among women worldwide. The cause is to be found in too late of a diagnostic process and therapeutic difficulties The presence of heat shock proteins in the serum of ovarian cancer patients is still a new area of study. It is necessary to continue studies on the possibilities for using these markers to predict a patient's response to a specific therapy and to monitor treatment progress.

The study included 52 women with ovarian cancer, hospitalised at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Oncological Gynaecology, Medical University of Silesia. The control group consisted of 25 healthy women. The levels of HSP27 in the studied sera were determined by an immunoenzymatic method (ELISA).

The mean concentration of HSP27 in the group of patients with ovarian cancer was significantly higher than in the control group of healthy women. We have shown that mean HSP27 levels in ovarian cancer patients increase with tumour progression and further depend on the clinical stage of the disease (FIGO). Positivity values analysis revealed in all clinical stages of ovarian cancer, excluding stage 1, it was significantly higher than in the control group, and at the 4th stage, it is significantly higher than at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stages. However, both for the untreated patients and those patients after chemotherapy, the mean HSP27 levels were significantly higher than in the control group.

Our studies indicate a significant contribution of HSP27 to the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer. LDC7559 in vivo It seems that serum HSP27 can be a marker for this cancer's development, and a marker for the clinical stage.

The aim of this study is to compare the annual SJR and to evaluate the other parameters that show the scientific effect of journals in terms of open access (OA) or subscription access (SA) in the field of obstetrics and gynecology according to the SCImago database.

This study was conducted between September-December 2019 at Near East University. The SCImago Journal & Country Rank database was used to collect information about the journals. We evaluated and compared the changes in the one-year SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) and journal impact factor (JIF) of OA and SA journals.

Data from 183 scientific journals in the field of obstetrics and gynecology from the period between 1999 and 2018 were evaluated, where 140 of these journals were SA and 43 were OA. The average SJR of OA journals in 1999 was 0.17, while it was 0.38 for SA journals. In 2018, these values were 0.31 and 0.78 for OA and SA journals, respectively. In the comparison of JIF, the average of the OA journals in 1999 was 0.09, while it was 0.
