By 2050, it will reach 9.7 million people.1 But, the amount of land used for farming in the world isn't growing as fast as we are. This presents significant challenges for farmers responsible for providing top-quality food for Canadians as well as other people all over the world.

The agency examines crops for residues of pesticides to ensure that farmers use it in a safe manner. They also have the Pest Management Regulation Agency (PMRA) which offers guidelines, evaluations of submissions to the product and rejects or approvals. They are home to one of the most comprehensive evaluation processes anywhere in the world.

In addition to ensuring that the herbicides that are approved for use are properly used by farmers, the regulatory agencies will also ensure that an appropriate and safe use of glyphosate is maintained by farmers, manufacturers as well as animals, so that there is no risk caused to the environment or other animals.
