Mojang has launched its Minecraft Realms subscription service in North America, offering hosting and setup for multiplayer Minecraft worlds starting at just $13 a month.
Mojang states that Minecraft Realms is particularly valuable for parents. It makes it simple to create a child's own Sandbox, and also limit access to only invited users. A backup feature is included in the cost of the subscription that allows players to make changes that aren't wanted and roll back their worlds to their previous saved state.

Minecraft Realms allows up to 10 players to join at once. The service will also host minigames and other in-game events regularly. Subscribers who sign up for a 3- or six-month subscription will be eligible for discounts.
