Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourist entry The numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% from the year before.

"It is so exciting to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our most important market for inbound tourism for Israel. Before the COVID-19 pandemic we had record numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are extremely happy to witness such a positive shift, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."

Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada received 7,200 visitors and August was a record the number increase to 6,000.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) stated that "it is exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is growing." We're still not away from our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are hoping that this surge in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more comfortable travelling across the world."

Israel received more visitors from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening to all tourists was in May of 2018. Israel has received more than 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
