The 13 Phases of The Minecraft Infection

Through my experience as a Minecraft player I have recognized several basic stages an average player goes through when "infected". These stages are what I think you'll recognize.



1. The Infection: Minecraft is almost never discovered by anyone else on their own. The majority of Minecraft players were introduced to the game by their friends or via the internet. It was something I learned about after playing with my friend for hours. Many people are "infected" by means of YouTube. 2. The Arrival The Player has seen Minecraft the game, he'll desire it. Badly. The player can either pirate (shun them) or buy the game in order to purchase it. 3. The Beginning The Beginning time that a player will use Minecraft. It will be a shaming game. The player won't know how to do anything! I myself had to go through six YouTube videos to discover how to open Minecraft and begin a new world. 4. Who likes survival mode? : When a Minecraft player first begins, it is almost never a survival game. He views survival as boring and difficult, however creativity is exciting and fun. You can do almost anything! Fly! You can kill creepers! You can make full diamond armor! 5. Creative gets boring: The player has been playing Minecraft for around an entire week. All he does is build dirt houses and kill creepers using full armor and enchanted weapons. Its kinda fun... Well actually it's getting really boring. The player isn't that great and there's no challenge for him. It's time to test the survival mode. 6. The beginning of survival After becoming bored with playing, many players switch to survival. The player makes use of the internet and learns how to play.The survival phase lasts for about one year. 7. The MADNESS: This stage is the most serious of the Minecraft infection. A stage in which the player is placed in a good spot on a survival map but dies in chaos. The "engragedmaniac howl" is one of the characteristics that can help you recognize this stage. 8. First Break: A player may typically take up to a month off the game after dying or losing diamonds. 9. Cheating: The player may take a break and decide to return to the game. He will pretend to never died and steal his items back. 10. The Final If the player is skilled enough to be successful, he will eventually kill the dragon enderdragon. He will then brag about it to his friends. 11. Second Break Second Break: Survival is over and creativity is dull. What's left for the affected? 12. Creative: Most players will become creative about a month after they have been able to win survival. They will build houses and mob arenas and even find the maximum limit. 13. The Divergence The Infected Player may take different routes after trying out various creative concepts. Infected players may be able to show signs of multiple pathways.



Route A: The player can begin to play on servers



Route B: The player will be able download maps to play



Route C: The player will experiment with redstone before becoming a professional



Route D: The player will install and make mods.



Route E: The player hosts a server.



Route F: The player will leave Minecraft.

Route G The player will (much like me) create Minecraft custom maps.



Route H The player will fall into a recurring and deadly cycle of greed and become terribly obsessed with Minecraft. The player will lose all his friends and family.



Now that you have an understanding of the stages of the Minecraft infection, you are able to start to recognize them yourself. Refusing to acknowledge the issue is not an option.
