What is the difference between texture packs and resource packs?
These two terms can cause confusion for many. The two terms are often used interchangeably, meaning the same thing, but technically, the differences are clear. First, let's look at the brief history. Both names are in use because prior to the full version 1.6 the name texture packs were used to create resource packs. Resource packs now have more functions and therefore renaming them was needed. The main difference is that the resource pack can be used to modify the Minecraft sounds. The file's structure has been modified. This was a very serious change because some texture packs suddenly were unable to work with the new Minecraft version. The new design isn't creating any more issues. We prefer using the old name since it is still popular with the community and brings back memories.
Are there any Minecraft texture packs?
Most times in life the most amazing things are very expensive. However, with Minecraft texture packs, things are different since they aren't expensive. This is due to the fact that already since the Alpha version there were players who released their creations for free on the internet. They simply enjoyed making textures, and no one thought of charging for it back in the day. It's still a common practice to give the game textures to users of Java Edition.
There are some exceptions, however PC gamers should not be distracted by these. The Bedrock Edition is a slightly different story.
