My Private Proxy is an affordable premium web proxy service which allows you to cloak your IP address when you go online. It's owned by MP3 Private Network, a small international company founded by three ex-COOs who worked in top Internet companies, including eBay and Yahoo! Private proxy is used by millions of Internet users and can be traced back to its creator, a pseudonymous person called 'ivan.' In 2021, the company was sued for violating copyright laws, which it disputes. The lawsuit was later dropped.
My Private Proxy claims that it can remove nearly all threat to online privacy present with free dedicated proxies. For ShoppingCodes , it claims that shared proxies are used by spammers and hackers who try to expose the personal information of Internet users. They further add that My Private Proxy removes threats like cookies, tracking and third-party scripts that may be present on the sites you visit. In short, they claim that My Private Proxy offers better protection than dedicated proxies.
However, these claims are entirely misleading as there are many flaws present in the My Private Proxy service. The first flaw is that it provides no protection against bots. It simply uses your IP addresses to log into your account and change your IP addresses whenever you request an updated site list from it. This means that it can't distinguish between legitimate traffic coming in from genuine servers and fake traffic coming in from bots. So if you use My Private Proxy, you are essentially granting bots access to your account, which is what ticketing proxies, social bookmarking proxies and other similar services don't do.
Another common My Private Proxy limitation is that it offers no protection against spoofing. Spoofing refers to a process of altering or impersonating an IP address, usually done for the purpose of online scams. The popular provider claims to prevent spoofing attacks but it doesn't actually do so, leaving your account vulnerable to attackers.
My Private Proxy also has no control panel. While it's true that My Private Proxy does not come with any control panel like most other Web proxy servers do, the one provided by the company itself is inadequate. The control panel is filled with all sorts of useless features, such as disabling and enabling plugins, controlling permalinks and custom domain names etc. It is also impossible to check your ip address history because it lacks an option for it. All these My Private Proxy web security flaws make it highly ineffective as a marketing tool. There are several more problems with My Private Proxy, which we'll look into now.
Let's start with the most serious My Private Proxy limitation - leaking. Since My Private Proxy uses public IPs, it's crucial that these web security tools protect your private data from leaking to the third parties. My Private Proxy does this by using a system called "HTTPS protocol", which is capable of ensuring that your sensitive information stays between you and the web server you're connecting to. However, My Private Proxy's server does not implement any kind of encryption or authentication for its users, leaving your data vulnerable to sniffing and leaking. This can be fatal for those who post sensitive information or want their data to remain confidential and safe at all times.
Another My Private Proxy security flaw is the use of unsecured locations. My Private Proxy uses a single IP and consequently, any location which is unsecured will allow strangers to access your account. In other words, anyone in the world can connect to your My Private Proxy account without your knowledge or consent, even if they have legitimate access to that IP. To solve this problem, My Private Proxy provides two different types of proxy servers: dedicated and shared.
Shared servers are hosted by My Private Proxy and are therefore not secured like dedicated ones. It can be advantageous to use them for testing purposes as well as for personal use. However, My Private Proxy also offers dedicated proxies for those who need more security. While shared servers are inexpensive at $2.50 per month, dedicated proxies are priced at $10 per month. This makes My Private Proxy a good choice for those who want to surf anonymously and don't mind paying a bit more to do it.
