Ties are broken according to their rank. While a royal flush of tied royals is rare, it can happen. From lowest to highest, the rank of suits is clubs, diamonds and hearts. The royal flush with a higher rank of suits wins. If necessary, the highest straight or suit determines who wins a straight flush. The highest hand, or the whole house, wins four of a sort. For a straight, the highest straight (or suit) will win. A flush tie is won by the highest card, or suit. Three of a kind, two pair, and pair ties are won by the highest set. If one pair is the same winning pair for two people, the winner of the hand is determined by which card is higher than the pair.

Another term used during rounds. A poker player can raise his bet to increase the amount. If he does this, the other poker player will be forced match or fold.

The best starting hands are pairs starting with aces and going down to pairs of queens. Other starting hand of merit are ace and ace not suited. Lower ranking hands may be used at the discretion each player. If the player is in a hurry, the starting-hand could be any two cards. Good play is coming in second, and luck has taken over.

A player without enough cash to call a bet can be declared All-In. The player is eligible for the portion of the pot to the point of his final wager. All further action involving another player takes place in a'side pot', which is ineligible to an All-In player.

The Texas Holdem poker game can be played with anywhere from 2 players on up to 10 players. The dealer is identified by a button at the table. The small and big blinds are placed clockwise from this button. The small blind equals around half of the amount that is decided on for big blind. Texas Holdem poker blinds take the place of Antes. This gives eight other players the chance to fold their cards free of charge. Two people under the blinds are considered already in the hand.

Players may combine only three of these community cards with their hole card. If no five-card hand is possible, they can use all five of the five cards on board. The next difference of the Holdem variant with that of the other poker games is the blind structure.
