hello goodmorning mr alfredo so first of all let me introduce myself my name is betris budiarto, im from twelve social 3 absent 2,
so today in this opportunity i would like to present a short story titled the birthmark by an american author nathaniel hawthorne.
first i will explain to you about summary of this story
so This story tells about Aylmer, a skillful and brilliant scientist who marry the beautiful Georgiana, who is physically perfect except for the little red birthmark on her cheeks. As the story progresses, Aylmer becomes unnaturally obsessed with georgiana's cheek birthmark.

One night, he dreams of removing the birthmark from his wife's cheek.He didn't remember this dream until Georgiana asked him about his dream, and then when Aylmer remember the details of his dream and told georgiana about it, Georgiana said she was willing to risk her life to remove the birthmark on her cheek rather than keep seeing her terrified husband every time he saw Georgiana.
The next day, Aylmer thought and then decides to take Georgiana to his laboratory.
Upon arriving, he intended to comfort his wife, but he shuddered in disgust when he saw georgiana's face, and that reaction made her faint. When she awakens, he, treats her warmly and comforts her, with some of his scientific potion.
and then the next day, He experiments again on his wife and succees, but when Aylmer asks her about her feelings and condition, Georgiana begins to suspect that her husband has been experimenting on her all the time without her knowledge.
Soon after, her husband made her a potion that he said was effective at removing the birthmark on her face
and georgiana could only surrender to trust her husband then drink the potion. Georgiana finally wakes up after slowly fell asleep to see her face in the mirror, the birthmark almost completely fading but then she tells Aylmer that she is dying. After the birthmark was completely gone, georgiana died.

so, I found that this story had an unexpected plot twist ,
when Georgiana agrees to allow Aylmer to experiment on her in an attempt to remove her birthmark—which, turns out to be a fatal decision.
