You may feel you might fail the first time you try it, but you will. Therefore, if you have an ability to change your mindset to a positive one where you know you can always achieve great things, it makes it much easier to try new things and accomplish things your first time around.</p>

<p>Another characteristic of a mindset that is a growth mindset is it promotes long-term thinking and planning. In a setback mindset, the individual thinks every negative thing possible. They think that they might fail the next time, so they just get discouraged and lose motivation. Individuals with a growth mindset believe things will work out in the end, no matter what setbacks they may encounter along the way.</p>

<p>Finally, a growth mindset also encourages individuals to set short-term goals. Most of us only focus on what we want, what we need, or what we might do. We rarely focus on what we can do. Having a mindset that enables you to visualize your success instead of what you can't do or what you might fail to allow you to focus on what you can do and realize your goals.</p>
