Is designed to protect consumers and give them rights when buying goods and services

Sale of goods act 1979 and 1995

The Sales of Goods Act 1979 is an Act that regulates the sale of goods that are bought and sold in the UK and the binding contract between both parties. The contract of sale states that the transfer of property from a seller to a buyer is completed through a money transaction, known as the price.



Trade description act

An Act to replace the Merchandise Marks Acts 1887 to 1953 by fresh provisions prohibiting misdescriptions of goods, services, accommodation and facilities provided in the course of trade; to prohibit false or misleading indications as to the price of goods; to confer power to require information on instructions relating to goods to be marked on or to accompany the goods or to be included in advertisements; to prohibit the unauthorized use of devices or emblems signifying royal awards; to enable the Parliament of Northern Ireland to make laws relating to merchandise marks; and for purposes connected with those matters.

Supply of goods act

Is an Act of the Parliament in the United Kingdom that requires traders to provide services to a proper standard of workmanship. Furthermore, if a definite completion date or a price has not been fixed then the work must be completed within a reasonable time and for a reasonable charge.
