Mingyu has a lover.

Minghao is the name.

Minghao was his classmate in high school, and they have been on a relationship ever since. It has been two years.
Yes, it has been that long and Mingyu has been more than comfortable with being with Minghao.
Minghao is everything you could’ve asked for. He could be your moodbooster, your human diary, and many more. He has been always all ears for Mingyu.

Mingyu loves the way Minghao smiles for him. It’s different from the way he smiles for everyone else. Mingyu also loves the way Minghao looks at him.

Even Wonwoo, Mingyu’s best friend, said that Minghao looks at him as if he put stars in the sky. Mingyu loves it. So much.

But these days, Mingyu can’t help but think that everything that Minghao has for him has been faded. Everything.
The sparks in his eyes, his smile, the way he looks at him, everything changes. Everything is not the same like the way it used to be anymore. Mingyu isn’t blind to notice all of the differences.

Proofs?

Minghao is in front of him but he chooses to focus on his phone. Back then, he would talk about anything for hours. And Mingyu is just gonna smile and listen.

His heart aches for all the differences that occurs between them.

“Minghao,” calls Mingyu.
Minghao looks up to him, a smile creeping upon his face. But Mingyu knows better that it is not the same he used to throw at him.
And his heart aches once more.

No, not the fact that Minghao might doesn’t love him anymore that aches his heart. It’s the fact that Mingyu’s presence couldn’t make Minghao smile like he used to do.
And Mingyu has decided.

“Let’s break up.”

Minghao widened his eyes in shock hearing Mingyu’s words, he put his phone immediately.
Mingyu’s eyes tearing up, but he hold back his tears as strong as he could, ‘cause it’d be embarrassing if he does so.

For a while, no one speaks after his statement. Minghao who doesn’t know what to say and Mingyu that is still waiting for his response.
Mingyu knows Minghao is shocked. Mingyu knows Minghao has been waiting for this day to come, but on the other side doesn’t expect that this day would come this fast; today.
The same thing goes for Mingyu.
And that’s the problem, they never see each other as forever.

“Why?” asked Minghao.

Mingyu smiles.

“I’m not blind to see all of the differences between us, Minghao. You have changed. We have changed.”

Minghao furrowed his eyebrows.

“But, Gyu,”


“Just… never feel guilty about this. It’s not your fault. Nor do its mine. It’s none of us’ fault. We’re just running out of time.”

Minghao’s eyes teared up.

“There’s nothing left for me to do for you, so I let go.”

Minghao bit his lower lips.

“I let go so that you could smile again.”

And with that final words, Mingyu smiled and leave.

Two months has passed since their break up. And even though it was not his worst break up, Mingyu’s heart aches really bad everytime the memory flashes on his head.

Why?

Simply because he still fucking love Minghao.

It’s almost Christmas and all Mingyu could think about was to spend time with Minghao, like he used to do.
Mingyu is wandering alone the downtown, but his mind wanders towards a certain lad named Minghao.

Mingyu stopped. Suddenly his heart skipped a beat, somehow, he feels Minghao’s presence in the middle of another dozen presences in this crowded downtown. Mingyu looked up and locked eyes with a pair of eyes that he misses so much, Minghao’s.

Mingyu’s heart somehow feels warmed up, ‘cause he suddenly feels that the way Minghao looks at him, it’s the same as two years ago.

And Mingyu couldn’t help but smile.

And so does Minghao.

“Hey, wanna have a coffee?”
