Node.js:
To formally introduce the concept of servers, web-clients, requests and responses.
To demonstrate the basic process for running Node applications.
To introduce the syntax for capturing command line arguments and modularizing JavaScript in Node.
To introduce the internal fs package for handling reading and writing to files with Node.
To introduce the NPM request package for performing HTTP get requests to external websites with Node.
To introduce students to the concept of NPM and the process for including new packages.
To introduce students to inquirer.js, an NPM package for building responsive command line applications.

JAVASCRIPT:
To master the basics of JavaScript objects
To create basic JavaScript constructors for usage in Node applications
To create a simple Node application which uses methods contained within a constructed object
To feel 100% comfortable using javascript constructors
To create simple applications that take in user input and utilize a constructor so as to create objects
To understand the basics of recursion and to learn how this process can be used to loop through a series of prompts multiple times
Sketch the design of their applications before they start to code;
Use constructors to create objects; and
Explain callbacks and closures.

mySQL:

To have MySQL Workbench or Sequel Pro installed and running on everyone's computers
To create a localhost connection to a MySQL server and have everyone successfully connect to it
To successfully create, use, and populate a MySQL database with data
To successfully create, populate, and select data from a MySQL table
To create a connection to a MySQL database using Node
To create, read, update, and delete data from a MySQL database using Node
To work with a group in taking a basic concept for a server side application and creating a working prototype for that application within a given time frame
