Nehir boyunca uzanan tarihi evlerin suya yansıyan görüntüleri muhteşem. Evet, Amasya, yeşilırmak’ın iki yakasına kurulmuş. Yeşilırmak’ın kuzey kıyısındaki kale kalıntıları, kral mezarları ve yeşilırmak arasındaki yerleşim alanı; dar. Bu yüzden, yerleşim ince bir şerit halinde uzanıyor. Şehrin asıl yerleşim ve gelişimi alanı ise, yeşilırmak’ın güney kısmında. Evet, nehir tam ortadan şehri ikiye bölüyor. Dolayısı ile, bol miktarda köprü var. Tam 7 tane.
