I am a 27 year old citizen of India. I want to share my thoughts on the mental agony I have gone through in the last 1 year. I have always been a law abiding citizen and was always patriotic since my childhood. As any patriotic kid from India, I dreamed of joining the Indian Army when I grew up! But fate had its own plans and I became a Software professional at the age of 19.I loved it and cared for nothing else. Started earning decent enough money (in the top 1% of Engineers in this country) by the age of 26. Like most guys in this country I went for an arranged marriage around 2 years ago. Turns out my marriage was a fraud and was only done with the purpose of extracting money. Soon into the marriage the women I had married starting demanding money in the name of savings, personal expenses and expensive gifts. I fulfilled all these, though very much understanding that the demands were very much above my budget and excessive. On doing this for 4 months I lost all my savings, most of them paid directly to the woman I married. Being new in a marital relationship I though this is just a passing phase, though intuitively I always felt that I am being looted to my core and this marriage is nothing but a way to extract money and maintain control of the relationship. After 4 months into the marriage being completely broke and only surviving on my salary I finally decided to stand up and refuse paying to the woman I had married. Realising my current financial status, she planned out a complete package of women biased laws to be filed against me and my entire family.



In the 5th Month of marriage a Dowry Harassment - 498a was filed against everyone in my family, followed by Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, 15 days later, followed by CRPC 125, 15 days later. Since 498a is a cognizable and a non-boilable offence in India I was Jailed without taking any statement from me, without any single piece of evidence from me or OP (Once a criminal case is filed against you it is recommended to maintain a un-emotional tag whenever referring the Opposite party).The woman I married asked me to sell my parents’ house and pay her the entire amount if I ever wanted to get out of courts and live a normal life. I am out on bail. I never had heard or read about all the sections that were put against me up-till then. Having lost my job because of the mental depression, I decided to learn about all the laws that affected me and all the judicial/administrative procedures in this country. After fighting for a year now trying to prove my innocence I have come to a phase of self-realisation which I want to share for all the men/women of this country.

1) The Indian Judiciary is nowhere close to providing justice, in-fact it has got itself rotten and has become more of a tool for harassment. It will take years for me to prove myself innocent even though I have numerous evidences. I live in constant burden of fighting against the whole system. OP filled up cases after cases all putting false allegations and I see no hope for filing perjury after I am acquitted.

2) For the lawyers, matrimonial cases are just easy money. They don’t have to work hard as they all know eventually the guy is going to surrender and settle with a lump sum alimony amount. The lawyers are the last group of people I want to look forward to for help. I have interacted with at-least 10 of them and I get the gist of it now. For the OP lawyers from the woman side, it the easiest money you can make in your life. Most contract while hiring a lawyer are even without any fees and expect a % cut from the final alimony coz they are so sure that it will end with a big amount. So this is all free for the women. The only thing now stopping a woman from doing this is her inner voice!

3) The leaders of this country just want to be politically correct and for them only vote bank matters. I am tired writing to the leaders about this. I have wrote numerous letters to the PM office, Women commission, Police etc. etc. with no fruitful reply from anywhere, just words of sympathy. I don’t need sympathy from anyone, just a solution and a quick one. Women empowerment is the new trend these days.Inspite of statistics of more than 40% Rape cases being false and more than 85% Dowry harassment being false no one is willing to talk about it as it is "politically incorrect" and against the 50% vote bank of this country. Fuck the millions of men that are going through this torture coz they are just .1% of the population. It doesn’t make mathematical sense to save them, for any leader.

4) Contrary to the popular opinion, I write the most letters to the women commission of this country. From what I have studied this is a bigger issue for the women of this country then it is for the men. When you cry "wolf" too many times when there isn’t one, it may lead to no one listening to you when there is actually one on your doorstep.

5)The police doesn’t care about these cases as they already know that most of them are actually false and the women is using the administration and judiciary to solve a matrimonial problem, but they can’t do anything. Usually the police are least interested in doing any investigation for such cases as they are already overburdened and overworked from bigger and genuine crimes. That is the reason most of these cases just end up being charge sheeted only to later acquit the accused in the court of law.

6) The media is all about being politically correct. It is a big no in the media to go against public opinion and the current wave of feminism.
I am now stuck in this huge swirl of judicial and administrative hustles and have little hope of coming out of it without losing all my parents lifetime savings! There are millions like me in this country and most of them I have spoken to have become bitter against this county/women of this country/Administration. I do not want to lose hopes but someday the judiciary and the administration will have to answer me as to why this happened with a law abiding, tax paying citizen of this country who did nothing wrong apart from wrongly judging a single person. Someday I will come out of this and I will start looking for answers, and someone will have to answer me!
