Dalam jikoushokai, terdapat langka-langka yang harus dilakukan :
1. Aisatsu (salam)
Aisatsu terbagi atas tiga rentang waktu pengucapan:
- Ohayou gozaimasu (selamat pagi)
- Konnichiwa (halo/selamat siang)
- Konbanwa (selamat malam)
2. Hajimemashite (perkenalkan)
Kata ini diucapkan setelah aisatsu
3. Watasi wa [...] desu (nama saya [...])
Kalimat ini diucapkan setelah kata hajimemashite sebagai kalimat perkenalan.
Bisa ditambahkan [...] to yonde imasu ([...] adalah nama panggilan saya)
4. Douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu
Kalimat berikut adalah kalimat penutup dalam perkenalan diri.
Dapat diartikan senang berkenalan dengan anda.
Contoh :
Konnichiwa.
Hajimemashite, watashi wa Kawakaze Naoko desu. Nao to yonde imasu.
Douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu.
note :
'u' pada kata gozaimasu, desu, imasu, onegaishimasu tidak dibaca
'ou' pada kata jikoushokai, ohayou, douzo merupakan CHO-ON yang berarti bunyi vokal o panjang
Dalam penulisan hiragama terdapat beberapa hal yang harus diperhatikan :
1. SEION
alfabet dasar hiragana
あ a い i う u え e お o
2. DAKU-ON
aksara hiragana yang diberikan teng-teng( " ) sehingga pengucapannya berubah (hanya pada aksara k s t h)
が ga ざ za だ da ば ba
3. HANDAKU-ON
akrasa hiragana yang diberikan tong-tong( ° ) sehingga pengucapannya berubah (hanya pada aksara h)
ぱ pa ぴ pi ぷ pu ぺ pe ぽ po
4. SOKU-ON
konsonan ganda ditandai dengan aksara tsu kecil
まって matte
5. CHO-ON
vokal panjang
おかあさん okaasan
おはよう ohayoo
きれい kiree
6. YO-ON
kombinasi dengan aksara ya yu yo kecil
きゃ kya ひゃ hya
ちゃ cha にゃ nya
じゃ ja

1. あし ashi (kaki)
2. かい kai
3. うし ushi (sapi)
4. えき eki (stasiun)
5. しお shio
6. かさ kasa (payung)
7. くし kushi
8. いけ ike (kolam)
9. ここ koko (disini)
10. そこ soko (disitu)
Tuliskan hiragana dari:
1. Suika すいか
2. Ase あせ (keringat)
3. Akai あかい (merah)
