Notes

It was a cold Christmas morning,and Lilly was just waking up at 6 AM to go and wake her parents. She jumps out of bed and walks quietly across the freezing cold wood floors. As she approaches her parents room she looks down the balcony and see's that the door is open. Terrified she runs to her parents room and wakes them. They all walk down and close the door. Nothing that they know of was taken but some of the presents were open. they check their home so see if anyone was still in the home. As Lilly opens the bathroom door she is frightened by an animal that is sitting in the corner of the dark room. She cannot make out what it is but thinks it is a raccoon. She goes to her room and grabs a flashlight, She walks back and turns on the flashlight. She then see's that it is no wild animal but a small scarred husky puppy. Lilly runs to her parents and holds up the puppy. Lilly's parents are a little sad to tell her that they cannot keep it but then say that she can keep it for a couple of days. Her parents go up to their room and talk about whether or not they should keep the puppy or take it to the humane society. After a while of playing with the puppy, Lilly's parents come back down and tell Lilly that they were talking about whether or not they can keep the puppy or not. Lilly was surprised to hear what came out of their mouths next, Yes... Lilly jumped up with excitement and gives her parents a big hug. The puppy had an accident a few times and the family thought that it was time to go and get some puppy stuff from their local Pet Smart. After around an hour of grabbing things for the puppy, they make an appointment for the puppy at the vet to have him get a check up. When they did go to the vet, they were going to say that they got it from a friend who was moving and couldn't keep it. They go home and set up all of the stuff in the guest bedroom. then they all go downstairs and open the other half of the presents that were not open yet. By the time they are done, it is almost 9:00 and Lilly starts to get ready for bed. The family puts the husky into the guest room and go on to bed. at around 10:00 they cannot sleep because of the puppy crying. Lilly's mom comes in with the puppy and sets it on the bed, and the puppy stops crying. They then move all of its stuff into Lilly's room and go to sleep happily. In the morning the family thinks if names to name the puppy. It is a brown female husky that has one eye blue and the other brown. The names just kept on popping up in there heads. Ginger, Sweetie, Liaka and Meela were the top names that they picked. they wrote the names on little cube size pieces of paper and put them into a hat. Lilly sticks her hand in a grabs a piece of paper. She then slowly unwraps it and reads what is says. Lilly then says " And the puppy's name is... Liaka." Laika seems to already like her name as she starts to nibble on a toy nearby. the next 2 days were the same thing, just Lilly and Liaka playing together. but 2 days after new years Liaka started getting confused on where Lilly was going. Lilly would be there at night and early in the morning but would leave for a couple of hours and then would be there later that night. Lilly often told Liaka that she had to go to a place called school, and to Liaka this school place seemed evil for taking away her best friend Lilly.
