As many of you know we just had a fire evacuation. It identified a couple of things that need to be corrected. First, everyone needs to know who their ‘buddy’ is. I will have Kate send out the latest buddy list. The biggest problem is we didn’t know where some people were. A couple of people were working from home and failed to let Betty know that . We have said many times before, if you are going to be out of the office let Betty know. If you are going to be working from Home, let Betty know so she can put it on the calendar. If you are going to be on travel let Betty know to put it on the calendar.
All in all, the evacuation went well, everyone got out of the building quickly except one, we mustered in the parking lot and could account for everyone after a little while. Thanks everyone.

For those of you who missed it, we can thank Jason for our adventure. He put a potato in the microwave with a napkin over it and left it. When he came back the napkin was burning and the potato didn’t survive. Lots of smoke and thus the fire alarm went off. The moral of this story is to not leave the room when anything is cooking in the micro. Let’s learn from this so we’re prepared for something more sinister.
