1. Terbagi menjadi:
a. Mimpi yang berkaitan dengan masa lalu dan masa sekarang. Di sini, mimpi dikaitkan dengan peristiwa-peristiwa atau kejadian yang kita alami sebelum tidur. Misalnya, saat tidur dalam menahan rasa ingin buang air kecil, seseorang bisa bermimpi berada di tengah banjir dan akhirnya ngompol.
b. Mimpi yang berkaitan dengan masa depan. Dalam hal ini, mimpi dimaknai membawa pesan tentang peristiwa yang akan terjadi.
2. Mimpi Abstrak: mimpi yang berbentuk metaphor atau puzzle dan cara menafsirkannya butuh memperhatikan baik2 emosi. Contohnya kalian bermimpi bertemu dengan seseorang yg sudah meninggal. Dengan itu kalian pasti mempikirkan kenapa bisa bertemu kembali. Jadi bisa saja mimpi itu diartikan kalau kalian lagi kangen dengan dia.
