Bu kaynakta mysql 5.0.51a sürümünün kurulumunu göstereceğiz
MySQL port yapısı üzerinden kurulması:
#cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql50-server #make all install clean
Mysql in sistem başlangıcında başlaması için :
#echo 'mysql_enable="YES"' >> /etc/rc.conf
Mysql i başlat:
#/usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server start
Güvenli mysql root kullanıcı hesabını şifreliyoruz ve isimsiz kullanıcıları siliyoruz
#mysql -u root mysql
>UPDATE user SET Password=PASSWORD('mysql_root_password') WHERE User='root';
>DELETE FROM user WHERE User='';
>FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
>quit;
my.cnf dosyasını MySQL için kopyala:
#cp /usr/local/share/mysql/my-medium.cnf /var/db/mysql/my.cnf
/var/db/mysql/my.cnf dosyasını değiştir:
[mysqld]

socket = /tmp/mysql.sock
skip-locking
key_buffer = 16M
max_allowed_packet = 10M
table_cache = 64
sort_buffer_size = 512K
# Uncomment the following if you are using InnoDB tables

Değişiklikler için MySQL i yeniden başlatıyoruz:
