Introduction
The trend that leads a person loving another one that is of its same sex has cause a lot of diverse opinions along the history of hummanity, being good or bad.
Nowadays what most people don’t know is that homosexuality has existed from long time ago, like in the ancient civilizations from our past, incluiding ancient rome, the base of our actual culture.
In our time, homosexuality is a topic that brings controversy and has become taboo among people because it is denied by governments, opinions and religions.
But what made homosexuality become to a common thing, to a bad and forbidden trend? That is exactly what I am going to demonstrate in facts from our past and the effects from our present. My Thesis is to prove that in the past being gay was normal, and nowadays is a Taboo and why.
Chapter one:
It’s hard to imagine now, but no long ago. Homosexuality was something to be hidden at all costs. Fifty years ago homosexual acts were illegal in every province in Canada and every state in the United States of America. To be a homosexual was to live in exile from mainstream society.
Gay Hollywood
From Thomas Edison's 1895 short film featuring two men dancing to David Lynch’s erotic thriller Mulhound Drive homosexuality and gay characters have always been a part of the movies. But the relationship between Hollywood and homosexuality has been a complicated and difficult one. Being publicly gay is still of tinsel town’s biggest taboos.
Chapter two: The Present
In the chapter two I’ll write about being gay in the present, how the society sees everything, and why did this became a Taboo.
Chapter Three: The Future
I’ll try to imagine how this situation is going to be in the future.
