Rescued With A Purpose Exodus Chapter Two Saved to Learn
1. Moses Prepared - for life and not death Pharaoh's Daughter from the Mighty Nile.
2. Moses Filled with Compassion - for growth in a place that was not prepared for him, in Pharaoh's House.
3. Moses Learns - the ways of God.
Moses was educated but he lacked purpose, he was intelligent, but could he not find wisdom, he was ca passionate but he had no guidance, he longed for spirituality but it escaped his understanding.
God allowed Moses to live in spite of the orders given by King Pharaoh to kill all males born.
Then God rescued again him as a defenseless baby from the great and powerful Nile.
God came to his rescue again when the hands of an angry king wanted to destroy him, after he murdered an Egyptian. This time so that he could humbly learn the ways of God and not his own.
1. Learned to Run Quickly. Verse 15
a. a man that always stood his ground learned to escape.
b. to run in God's direction. Sometimes God manifests himself in foreign places.
c. we must run with a purpose, even if we don't know the purpose yet.
2. Learn to Rescue Verse 17
a. Before Moses would be ready to liberate thousands of his own oppressed people he needed to rescue
seven unknown oppressed women.
b. The rescued on had to learn to follow the pattern become a rescuer himself.
3. Learn to Be a Servant. Verse 16.
a. In Pharaoh's house Moses had hundreds of servants and slaves.
b. Moses knew very well how to give orders but know he was the one that would have to obey.
4. Learn to Hold On. (position)
a. God opened a door.
b. God planted him as seedling.
c. Moses got a 40 year job, a loving family, a beautiful wife, and a son.
d. All this as an alien in a foreign land, a place where he never dreamed of belonging.
e. The more he worked the more he could hear and understand the groans of his slave brothers.
f. Staying put allowed him to feel God's pain and to realize that he would keep His promises (covenant).
Conclusion: God has rescued (saved) us to be learners of his ways. If we do not learn we will not allow God to move us, we can never imitate God and be a rescuer ourselves, we can never understand humility and servanthood. Finally we can never know the rewards of hanging on in the place where he leads us. Though it be far, we will ultimately draw closer to God and understand His plans for us and others.
