Evening Prayer

Opening Prayer

I give you thanks, O Almighty God for giving me your blessings and graces to your unworthy servant. I give you thanks for giving me every sufferings and lesson that help my spiritual and holiness growth. I give you thanks because you did not give it to me as of my own merit but by your generosity and mercy. I give you thanks, O Lord for every temporal and spiritual wealth that you have given to us. O Lord, I adore you, worship you, and glorify you. I firmly believe that you are One God in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For Heaven and Earth are full your glory! The Seraphim says Holy Holy Holy the Lord of hosts. Heaven and Earth are full of your glory. (Isaiah 6:3) I believe that your Divine Son, Jesus that by the power of the Holy Spirit was incarnated as man and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truth which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because in revealing them you can neither deceive nor be deceived. I adore you O Lord and believe that your presence presides over the Sacred Host in the Tabernacle. O Lord have mercy on me, a sinner. Pardon me, O Lord, my faults. For my faults is unpleasant to your eyes and saddens your Heart. Pardon me, O Lord, for I disobeyed your Holy Will and did not guard myself against temptation. I did not guard my eyes, the light of my body, from being stained of malicious and impure sights. I did not guard my thoughts against sinful and wicked desires and inclinations. I did not guard my mouth from speaking blasphemous, malicious, and impure words. Because of my sins, I have merited your just judgments but Lord, your mercy outweighs your justice. Look upon me with pity, O Lord and show me the path of righteousness so that I may change my ways. Have mercy on me, O Lord and aid me in becoming holy as you are holy. I pray to you, O Lord, for the Pope, the leaders of the Church, priests, deacons, and seminarians that they may guide the flock to the right path and they may be faithful in teaching, exercising, and preserving the faith that is given to them by God. I pray to you, O Lord, for the sick and ill from any illness that they may be comforted by your mercy and grace. I pray to you, O Lord, for the poor and those who live in poverty that they may find comfort and solace in the Almighty God. I pray to you, O Lord, for my enemies that they may find it is wrong to commit sin and that they may find peace to their own enemies. I pray to you, O Lord, for the non-believers and atheist that they may be converted and see that they may confess and have faith in You. I pray to you, O Lord, for the families that they may show Christian virtue and value to their children and teach them about the faith in God. I pray to you O Lord, for the Poor and Holy Souls in Purgatory that they may be relieved from their sufferings and may they be purified faster to go to Heaven. I pray to you, O Lord, that you may guide me in my life, defend me from evil and make me safe from every distress. I ask to you, O Lord, that I may be virtuous and be vigilant to temptations. I ask this through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
