Froststar and Lilywing were in the clearing of the camp, they were politely talking to eachother as Shadepaw was having an unwanted dream. "Good morning!" said Lilywing with a happy flick of her tail. "Good morning, Lilywing!" replied Froststar with a nod. It was morning and the song of the birds were calm and beautiful. Finally Shadepaw woke up, and emerged from the apprentices den with a yawn. Shadepaws eyes were tired and she seemed annoyed as walked she to the fresh-kill pile, "Are you okay, Shadepaw?" Lilywing asked the young apprentice, "Im fine! Stop worrying about me!" Shadepaw spat as she looked down at the puny pile of prey, "err..." she sighed at the look of the pile. "C'mon Shadepaw..." the medicine cat beckoned with her tail leading to her den. Shadepaw sighed but followed. They sat down in the middle of the den. "Got another dream from Starclan, huh?" Lilywing guessed right, only she knew that Shadepaw had powers. "Y-yeah..." Shadepaw stammered, Shadepaws eyes filled with annoying anger "I hate this, Lilywing! Tell Starclan that I dont want this at all!" Shadepaws eyes changed to desire "Psst! I wish!" she spat. Shadepaw looked down at her paws "Why must it be me, Lilywing?..." she mewed softly. " Oh sweet Shadepaw, if you really wish for me to speak to Starclan, I will, just tell me." Lilywing mewed softly with concern on how much stress she was going through. " Shadepaw, please, if you would, tell me what dreams you've had from Starclan. I know you've already said that Starclan keeps telling you that you have the power of darkness, but please tell exactly what happened. I need to know so that I can ask Starclan if you wish me to." Lilywing mewed. Shadepaw stared at her paws, "Well they keep saying I will help the clans or d-destroy them..." she paused for a moment then continued "And that dark will not defeat light" she looked up at Lilywing "They are talking to me like I'm a dark forest cat! Like I'm evil!" she spat. Lilywing's eyes shone with compassion for the young apprentice. " Shadepaw, I know you are not bad, and so does Starclan." The medicine cat pondered her thoughts for a moment. " So Starclan says that dark will not defeat light. Maybe it means you're the light and a different cat is the dark. Shadepaw, I'm guessing you have to choose the correct path, or it could lead to the destruction of the Clans." Lilywing's voice suddenly sounded strange. She looked past Shadepaw and repeated these words. " Shadepaw, you are the light, you choose the wrong way, and the Clans will be destroyed, wiped out from the face of our world." Lilywing gasped and fell down as the prophecy tumbled out of her mouth. Shadepaw gasped and suddenly thought a bit better, "maybe..I think so..." She said more positively. Lilywing regained her balance and sat up, gasping. She smiled. " Shadepaw, do you think I may be right?" Lilywing asked carefully. Shadepaw gulped "y-yes" she finally hesitated to say. The medicine cat smiled. " If you're answer is true, and I believe it is, then, you have already won half the battle, but the next half will be the hardest." Lilywing said. Shadepaw nodded and shuffled her paws, her eyes seemed blank buried in thoughts. Lilywing smiled at the young apprentice. " You better go rest, you might need it." She said. "yes.." Shadepaw bounded from the herb scented den and into the apprentices den, she curled up in her nest and tried to sleep. Lilywing looked at her paws "I hope I'm right..." she whispered, she curled up and let sleep take her.
