Ditemukan oleh Ethan saat kabur dari rumahnya (dasar gunung Kuroro), ketika akan dibunuh oleh saudara lelakinya, Michael, yg ingin merebut gelar pewaris klan yg diberikan ayahnya.
Raphael adalah pewaris tahta dari keluarga Valacolaci, keluarga pembunuh bayaran paling disegani di seluruh Ghoundall. Pengidap moodswing dan diketahui mempunyai alterego bernama Raffa. Raphael sangat menjunjung tinggi etika. Sangat menjaga sopan dan santun, dan menghargai wanita. Berbudi luhur dan ramah kepada siapa saja. Memiliki kemampuan penyembuhan, sesuai namanya yg berarti Malaikat Penyembuh. Bisa menyembuhkan orang yg sekarat sekalipun. Namun berhati-hatilah, jangan buat ia marah atau kalian akan bertemu Raffa. Si alter ego berkepribadian 180° berbeda dari Raphael. Seorang pembunuh hebat yg mampu membunuh (dengan cara mengambil jantung) seseorang dalam waktu 10detik tanpa mengeluarkan darah dari tubuh korban. Lihai dalam menggunakan pisau, dan dikenal suka menguliti leher korbannya. Bisa menghapus dan mengatur ingatan seseorang hanya dengan tatapan matanya.
Raphael memutuskan mengganti nama belakangnya menjadi Alterian Saveri, saat memutuskan untuk tidak kembali pada klannya dan menetap bersama Ethan dan Ursula di Ghoundall.
