The symptoms of Haemophilia is prolonged bleeding, severe bruising, long nosebleeds, and other symptoms that involve prolonged bleeding. Mild Haemophilia is where someone has between 5 and 50% of the normal amount of clotting factors, moderate Haemophilia is where someone has between 1 and 5% of the normal amount of clotting factors, and severe Haemophilia is where someone has less than 1% of the normal amount of clotting factors.
There are no causes to this disease you are born with it. Haemophilia is a germ so it is passed down from a parent into the gamete cells. Haemophilia is recessive so the approximate amount of people in the world with Haemophilia is about 500,000 and roughly 15,000 of them live in the United States.
There are chromosomal changes with this disease. Both male and female can get this disease. It is more likely for a male to get hemophilia than for a female because it is carried on the x chromosome.
People who play sports know about cuts and bruises and it's no big deal. It's not like that for Hemophiliacs. If the cut is small you apply pressure and it will stop. If it is deep than you need medicine. You cant exactly die from a paper cut, but if you don't get help and you don't know how to stop the bleeding then you could potentially die. Internal bleeding is very dangerous and can be fatal.
Haemophilia is very dangerous without help. We should all be very thankful that we are all healthy.
