Can't we go back to the way we used to be? The way you used to call me "baby," the way you would want me to wake up with the words, "I like you," from you. Why is it so unfair all the time? I already know that we can't go back to the way we used to be and that's what hurts me the most - how I pretend that we're doing fine, how I pretend I'm fine with how we are right now, because i'd rather accept that than losing you and what we are. My feelings for you can't fade, and sometimes the thought of allowing you to be free from me breaks me so much that I can't stand it. Deep inside me, I know that we're bound to break apart, that one day you're going to tell me that you've had a change of heart, but a small hope that sparks in the center of darkness, perpetually hopes that we'll work out - that one day you'll tell me you love me and nothing can come between us. We don't have to go back to what we used to be, but we can make better memories with who we are right now. I'm losing my head, thinking of you, thinking and hurting, needing and breaking. I promised you that I'll never give up so easily, but what about you?
