• A beaker is filled with 15ml of 1% starch solution and 3 ml of 1% NaCl solution.
• The solution is mixed well and poured into test tubes A, B and C equally.
• 1 ml of buffer solution of “x” is added to the test tube A and “y” is added to B.
• Both the test tubes are kept in a beaker of water at room temperature.
• Using a dropper, 1 ml of iodine solution is added to each of the test tubes A and B.
• It is followed by the addition of 1 ml of saliva solution to each of the same test tubes.
• The time taken for the discolouration of the mixture, in each test tube is noted and tabulated.
• The same procedure is repeated for the 10ºC higher temperature than the room temperature.
