Getting up for my first and last day of school is something I am never going to forget. Senior year. If I had a rich set of parents, a huge wardrobe, a popular status, and a cute boyfriend, my life would be perfect. But since my mom is dead, my dad is a cashier at Target, and I share a wardrobe with my cousin, life is far from perfect. Oh, yeah. And the boyfriend thing? Nobody wants to date a scrawny girl with wavy dirty blonde hair.
I go to my cousins closet and pick out one of her many outfits. A striped oversized shirt and jeans. I brush my hair and flat iron it to take out the waves. I dread school. When I'm finished, I don't want to go to college but I've already been accepted to UCLA. Must have done something right. As I chew my lucky charms with care, I read the back of the box. Then my aunt warms up her caf and its time to go to school. The drive is 10 minutes long, but I don't know how it goes by that fast.
Another hell ride at my school is standing right in front of me but according to state law, its required. I know my friends should be inside, searching the heavens to find me and I'm glad of that. Something worth coming for. I see my best friend, Jo and think "where have you been all summer?"
