The world of computer programming is vast; from microwaves heating up leftovers to two-thousand dollar Macbooks dominating the coffee shop scene, algorithms dictate every one of their functions. I enrolled in C++ programming at De Anza College over the summer, and from that point on I knew that this would be part of my future. In the short span of a summer, I built a kingdom founded upon syntax and structure, a land of creativity and free reign but with intention and purpose.
I imagine myself as a leader in this field. Not simply a programmer whose eyes are glued to a tinted screen, but a visionary who molds the direction technology progresses towards. At USC, I hope to take intriguing courses like Brain Theory and Artificial Intelligence, which demonstrates the real world applications of computer programming. By correlating human intellect with mechanical movement, I will be able to learn technological algorithms to impact the world.
Widespread technology means a world dominated by computer programs, whether it is through business, banking, or manufacturing. I will be able to pursue USC’s unique programs like Computer Science and Business Administration in order to receive the education I desire to achieve my goals.
USC has the diverse education that is a crucial stepping stone to my future dream of enhancing lives through the applications of computer programming. I hope I am afforded the opportunity to learn and grow both as a programmer and leader.
