National Background Check, Inc. (NBCI) is one of a few companies in the United States to be recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as an approved FBI Channeling Agency. We can obtain expedited FBI Background Checks for non-criminal applicants by submitting fingerprint cards directly to the FBI. NBCI is also one of a handful of Channelers whose results can be Apostilled, if necessary. Our results are returned from the FBI in a PDF format with the FBI seal in the background. These results are signed by the FBI Section Chief, and are termed "FBI Authenticated Document," by the FBI. Once applicants have their results returned to them from NBCI, they the applicant can then send the authenticated document to the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC to be apostilled.

Per the FBI: "If you are a DO Channeler that receives the DOCE response with the FBI seal and Section Chief signature via the pdf attachment, then you are receiving an authenticated response. If an applicant needs an apostille, they must take the authenticated document to the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC for further action".

WHY REQUEST A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK REPORT?

i .For review and correction purposes, to challenge the information on the record, and/or other
court related matters.

National Background Check, Inc. and our FBI Channeling service has the ability to provide any United States citizen or lawful permanent legal resident the right to request a copy of their personal FBI criminal background check. Federal regulation permits that you can request a copy for personal review, to challenge the information, for court related matters or other personal reasons. If you are requesting your FBI criminal background check to challenge the information, once our FBI Channeling service has returned the results, any questions about the information should be directed to the FBI. If you are requesting a copy of your FBI criminal background check for court related matters, an attorney is permitted to receive the results. In order for an attorney to receive the background check, the request must be submitted on the attorney's letterhead with both the individual and the attorney signatures and a release statement indicating the applicant is aware that the FBI background check results are being returned to the attorney.

ii .To satisfy certain legal requirements such as a requirement for US Citizens immigrating to another country, or to adopt a child;

FBI criminal background checks are usually required for immigration purposes or when applying to adopt a child. In order to help meet this requirement, National Background Check Inc. is able to provide expedited FBI Background Checks via our FBI Channeling department, which can help speed up the paperwork necessary for a successful adoption or immigration process.

iii .To satisfy a requirement to live in a foreign country; to satisfy a requirement to work in a foreign country, and/or to satisfy a requirement to travel in a foreign country;

Foreign countries and their foreign embassies usually require an FBI criminal background check for studying, living, working or traveling abroad. Our FBI Channeling service can provide the fast results that you are looking for in order to help keep travel plans on schedule.

FBI Departmental Order Reasons: Personal Background Check Request:
Under DO-556-73, an individual may obtain a copy of his/her FBI criminal identification record for the
following reasons:
...• personal review and correction purposes
...• to challenge the information on record
...• to satisfy certain legal requirements such as a requirement for adopting a child or immigration
...• to satisfy a requirement to live, work or travel in a foreign country
...• and/or other court-related matters.


COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

The Departmental Order (DO) Applicant Information request form
Submit your fingerprints, either by visiting a FastFingerprints location to have your fingerprints captured electronically (http://www.nationalbackgroundcheck.com/background-check-locations.htm), or by mailing in 2 FD-258 Fingerprint Cards.
Include payment of $50/person (plus shipping) by check made payable to NBCI, money order, or credit card (exception - Discover). (Please note: The $50 processing fee is non-refundable once the application is processed. If fingerprints are rejected by the FBI, we will contact you to be reprinted at a FastFingerprints location, or we will submit your 2nd card - both free of charge. If fingerprints are rejected a second time, you will need to send a new processing fee of $50 and a new set of fingerprint cards).

SHIPPING
There are 3 shipping options from which to choose. UPS provides tracking information, and USPS Regular Mail does not. If you select Regular Mail ($5) as your preferred shipping method, NBCI will not be held responsible if your package is lost by the United States Postal Service. A refund will not be processed. Please be advised that after FBI background check results are printed by NBCI and mailed to the applicant, they are deleted from NBCI’s server 24 hours afterwards. If a regular mail package is lost by the postal service, and there is a need to have a background check re-processed, there will be a $35 charge, which will include ground UPS shipping. We will not send out a second copy of the FBI background check via regular mail.

Attention:
If you choose email as your method of delivery, you will need to include a U.S. cell phone number on the application (effective on December 28th, 2015), and a version of ADOBE XI. Once your document is emailed to you, you will have 30 days to view your FBI Channeling background check, after which time it will be deleted from the link provided in the email. Once you open the email, your FBI background check results will be deleted from NBCI’s server after 24 hours. It is important to remember that if you wish to keep your document after opening the email that you immediately download it to your computer. (NOTE: the email will be addressed from “NO-REPLY FBI”)

Your application will be located, and reviewed. If approved, your fingerprints and the application will be inputted into our system the very same day, and transmitted to the FBI.
Once we have given your application priority over other applications, and submitted it to the FBI on the same day, there will be NO REFUNDS PROCESSED.
Your FBI Background Check results will be mailed to you as soon as the FBI responds.
Same day service is available every Mon-Fri 8am-2pm EST. Same day service requests will not be honored after 2pm EST.
This service only applies to customers who are selecting email and/or UPS as their method of shipping. SAME DAY SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE WITH THE SELECTION OF REGULAR MAIL.
**NOTE: SAME DAY SERVICE MEANS THAT YOUR APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED TO THE FBI THE SAME DAY YOU CALL. IT DOES NOT IMPLY THAT THE FBI WILL RESPOND WITH YOUR FBI BACKGROUND CHECK RESULTS ON THE SAME DAY. RESULTS WILL BE MAILED OUT THE SAME DAY FOR ALL RESULTS RECEIVED FROM THE FBI BEFORE 5PM. REJECTIONS WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.

FBI BACKGROUND CHECK (EMAIL COPY)
To begin the download process, Please follow these steps:

Step 1: Click the link provided to you, and when prompted in the next screen for a password, please enter the last four digits of your SSN followed by your birth year (no spaces or dashes). For example, if your SSN ended with 1112 and your birth year was 1910, your password would be 11121910. Click Submit.
Step 2: Submitting your password will take you to the next screen, and also prompt the system to text a pin number to the U.S. cell phone number included in your application.
Step 3: Enter the pin number sent to your cell phone, and click the submit button.
Step 4: Your PDF download will begin! Please note: The PDF document is also encrypted using the same password you used to obtain the pin, as outlined above (last four digits of your SSN and your birth year). Once this password is entered, your results will be viewable.


OBTAINING FINGERPRINTS:
Please visit one of our Fingerprint Capture locations (http://www.nationalbackgroundcheck.com/background-check-locations.htm) to have your fingerprints sent to NBCI electronically. Or, please have your fingerprints put on 2 FD-258 fingerprint cards and sent to NBCI along with your application.

SAME DAY SERVICE

The cost of Same Day Service is $100 (this fee includes the $50 processing fee and the $50 same day service fee). Shipping and handling is not included. The process is as follows…

Visit a FastFingerprints Fingerprint Capture location to have your fingerprints sent to NBCI electronically ( see link above ).
Then fax/email us your application, and call 877-932-2435. Ask for the "Channeling Same Day Department" to let them know that you have just completed Fingerprint Capture at a FastFingerprints location, and that you would like Same Day Service.
Mail your application and fingerprint cards to NBCI via a trackable method, Attn: FBI Channeling, SAME DAY SERVICE
Track your package so that you are aware when it has arrived. Please then call 877-932-2435 and ask for the "Channeling Same Day Department" to let them know that your package has arrived, and that you would like same day service.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

* An FBI-approved Channeler may only process requests for a U.S. person (an individual who is a citizen of the U.S. or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.).

* If an applicant needs an apostille, the applicant must send/take the authenticated document to the State Department for further action.

* An FBI-approved Channeler cannot process a request for employment and/or licensing purposes within the United States. This type of request should be coordinated with the appropriate state identification bureau (or state police) for the correct procedures.

* Fingerprints must be captured by a law enforcement agency or an official FBI-approved Channeler. The fingerprint card must be signed by the official taking the fingerprints. An individual is not permitted to capture his/her own fingerprints on a fingerprint card.

* All FBI Channeling results must be sent back to a U.S. address. Results are prohibited from being returned overseas. For security purposes, the results will be mailed to the authorized recipient in a package containing the sealed results with the applicant's information printed on the envelope.

* Results can only be sent to the address cited on the application, not any other address mentioned in additional correspondence with the application.

* FBI Channeling Criminal Reports will be saved in our system for 30 days until the applicant views it. Once viewed, applicants will have 24 hours to print or save their report (the link to access the report will expire).
