Notes

Emerson was in her bed reading a book when Marcie came in. She moved the long stringy curl away from her line of vision as she started speaking. Emerson wasn't actually listening, but that's only because Marcie just talks to talk. Emerson stared out the window that was behind Marcie. All she could see was the fence that kept her away from "dangerous humans" Emerson was the type of person who saw no wrong in anybody. No matter what they did or supposedly did. She also always had a lot of questions. But the scientists always told her to keep her questions to herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard her name. "But what do you think Emerson?" Emerson felt bad. "I'm sorry Marcie, what was that?" She asked with a dropped look on her face. Oh, Emerson...every time anyone tries to sit and talk to you, you get lost in your thoughts? What's going on?" Marcie's ears were perked up in concern. Emerson looked at her with a sorry face. "Nothing, just thinking about the fence you know? I always have so many questions, but can't ask. It overwhelms me." The dinner bell rang as Emerson finished her sentence. "This conversation isn't over. Let's go eat." Marcie picked up Emerson's arm and pulled her out of the room.

Emerson and Marcie walked up to the food line and got what they wanted. Emerson wasn't very hungry so she grabbed a water and an apple. When she got to the check-out she had to tell the cashier her number. "1351" Emerson said with a smile. She looked around the dining hall and decided she was going to sit all the way in a back corner. As she sat she looked at Marcia, they were a spitting image of each other but were from different batches. The only difference was Marcia's hair was less curlier and her skin was slightly lighter than Emerson dark brown skin. Other than that they had the same light brown eyes and their facial features were alike.
