gender and sex are different
sex is biological
gender is cultural
gender is the mind
gender can not be changed
appearance and social standing can be changed to match gender
this story is not about transgender
this story is about mutilation based on fear of rape
the mother was trying to change the daughter
the daughter was not trying to change herself
she only prayed for her breasts to be removed because she was in pain and she wanted the torture to stop
this has nothing to do with America or American culture
women in America are not praying for their breasts to fall off because their breasts hurt or are being tortured
persons born female and develop breasts and wish for them to be gone do so because their sex does not match their gender
if your argument is that transgendered women want to escape the mastibatory gaze of the American male that US culture has created then how do you explain transgendered men
obviously you can't because you never even mention it
and how do you explain transgendered women who transition into gay men
or men who transition to be lesbian woman
and if it is as you say that male attention is heightened towards women they perceive as masculine because it threatens their culture then you have created and exposed a flaw in your own theory
what do you make of cultures that accept transgendered persons
in Indonesia there are five different genders that are accepted and encouraged to live together in harmony
what do you make of cultures such as this where there is so much love surrounding the community that it would be asinine to apply your fear mongering ideas to them
i am not encouraging you to make another video trying to draw similarities between our culture and theirs and make assumptions based on them for the same reason that this article is meaningless dribble, you cannot take the practices of one culture and apply them to another as there is no basis for comparison; the values, morals and experiences are too vastly different to say that any similarities in practices are rooted in similar reasoning
further, i would like to add that you are arguing that correlation equals causation
women who are trans and are happy to avoid being sexualized by men does not automatically mean that women are trans because they want to avoid being sexualized by men

Knowing that you are trans because you hate your body is completely different than deciding to change your body because you hate how others view and react to you. Transgendered people want to change for personal reasons. Not to please or dissuade others. It is not possible to change the gender of a person because gender Sex is not the same as gender.
