P1) The Quran confirms the authority and preservation and inspiration of the Christian scriptures
P2) The Christian Scriptures record Jesus' claims to be divine
Conclusion: The Quran affirms that Jesus is divine
P1 is confirmed by the fact that Quran affirms the inspiration, preservation and authority of the gospels
The Qur'an says in 15:9, "We have revealed the dhikr (reminder) and we surely will preserve it," but which "reminder" is Allah referring to, and who decided it only applied to Qur'anic text?
The Taurat and Injil are also referred to as dhikr in 21:48, 21:7, and 40:53-54
Premise 3 is confirmed by the Quran
I am only a messenger of your Lord, to announce to you a faultless son (Surah 19:19).
the Quran says repeatedly (4:47, 2:89, 2:91, 2:101) That it came to confirm the texts of the jews and Christians at the time
Premise 2 is the most contested.
He claims to be the co-owner of everything in God's possession, which includes the whole universe (John 17:10, 16:15)
He claims to have shared the same glory with God before creating the world (John 17:5)
He accepts worship (Matthew 2:11, Matthew 28:9)
He claims to be the judge of the living and the dead on who goes to heaven and hell. (John 5:22, Matthew 25:31-46)
He affirms Thomas' statement that Jesus is God. (John 20:28)
Jesus claims that he is the lord of the sabbath (or the God of the old testament) in Mark 2:28
has all authority in heaven and earth (Matt. 28:18)
Has authority to forgive sins (Mark 2:10)
He demands just as much worship as the father (John 5:23)
He asks us to pray to him (John 14:13 and 14)
I am just going to leave aside John 1 and Philippians 2 which are nails to the coffin.
“Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1)
