What was the industrial revolution?
-The Industrial Revolution was a time when people switched from farming to factories. Before the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing was done in peoples home. The Industrial Revolution provided them with factories and machinery to manufacture supply much quicker. The pay and working conditions were bad at the beginning so laws were put in place to make it a more safe environment. There was an increase in population due to a better standard of living and people could finally go from lower to the middle class or middle to upper class. There was for once not just people in upper class making decisions about political subjects.

List and Explain at least 3 political and 3 economical benefits of the industrial revolution.
Before the Industrial Revolution women had no rights and were typically housewives. During the revolution, women gained many rights. At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, most women worked in factories making less than men but still enough to support themselves. As time went on more women got jobs as teachers, nurses, etc. Women were starting to be treated more equally. Though it wasn't perfect it was a start. Women weren't the only people working in factories though. There were also men and children making money working in factories. Another economic benefit was now that everyone was working in factories the cost of supplies went down. They were able to produce supplies faster and cheaper with all the automated machines they had. With cheaper supplies and better wages, there was an overall better standard of living.
