Cruelly indeed. The Cherokee people were forced most cruelly by us Americans to move from the ancestral lands to the state of Oklahoma.
How did they do this? Well, they did this by forcing the Cherokee to walk 1,000 miles to Oklahoma.
Where were these Natives? They were from North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama.
How many tribes were antagonized? Over Five tribes were moved. These tribes were as following, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole.
What happened on the trail? Along the trail over 4,000 Cherokee died of starvation, exposure, or disease.
And that is a very brief description of what is known as the Trail of Tears as it is called, or how the Natives called it "Nunahi-Duna-Dlo-Hilu-I" (Trail Where They Cried)
