So let’s define hope,
By the life of a leaf
The one that didn’t shed
When came the autumn, of grief.
It fought the winds
Of a storm so fatal
But still didn’t fell,
It remained immortal.
But nature still had
Some weapons in account
The leaf didn’t fell
But the tree caught the ground.
With time that elapsed
The roots soaked death
The leaves soon synthesized,
The demise that was left.
One life that then, rescued the leaf
Kept it betwixt poems
Of Care and belief.
Day by day the leaf was evoked
To breathe reality
And some life, to soak.
The voids still remained
With its edges still stained
But no more damage
Then the leaf gained.
The death of its cellulose
And those parasitic gaps
Couldn't kill its adamant
Spirit, perhaps.
Healing isn't always
The answer to your doom
The light still enters
the smallest hole, in the room
It's the hope that always
Keeps us going
when we thought we’ll yield
in this combat called ‘growing’.
