The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a good option if you're looking to buy a mid-priced robot vacuum and mop. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able to take on dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't use LIDAR, however, as other models do to locate your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpets however, iRobot says that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the price price.


Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to clean up your whole home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only downside is that it lacks an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay if want one of the best robots on the market. As for the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub the tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move on whenever it comes across one.

What makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background and also washes and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something needs attention, like the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.

You can also combine or create rooms to alter the way Q Revo manages your home. This feature is helpful when you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly clear out clutter such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my test cleaning up debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that comes with all the features you could want. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet in height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has a faster charging speed for batteries and can handle a full cleaning of around 1,500 square feet on one charge. And it has a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris which makes it easier to empty it when needed.

Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and an assistant voice that works offline, allowing you to control it even when you're not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of following a set path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does the job well. It also has a huge battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. While these features are nice to have but they also push the L10s Ultra into the luxury category and could mean it's slightly more expensive than some homeowners need.

The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and identify them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.

The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance which clears 98.4 percent of debris from our test on the hard floor and removing all but the most stubborn juice stains. The mops are also efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as great at tackling sand on the hard floor and the quaker oats that are on carpet.
