Buying a Twin Stroller With Car Seats
In the early days of your baby you may decide to go with a lightweight frame stroller that can accommodate two infant car seats. Some of the top options include the UPPAbaby Vista V2 Double or Joovy TwinRoo+.
This model allows the car seat carriers to be facing either same or opposite directions and comes with a large storage bin that is accessible without removing the infant carriers. It can also fit through the majority of doors.
Ease of Folding
The Vista V2 by UPPAbaby is a massive, stunning twin stroller that holds two infant car seats with the correct adapters (car seat adapters are sold separately). It glides and pushes easily, turning and spinning like a single-seat stroller. It comes with an adjustable leg and foot rests, a spacious UPF 50+ canopy with windows that peek out at the sky and padded five-point safety harnesses that are easy to fasten and unfasten. You can use the included toddler seat, or choose to add the RumbleSeat which is a bassinet-like seat for babies and small children. The oversized storage basket is spacious enough to accommodate all your items and includes a handy place to store your phone or purse and four cup holders.
But it's also difficult to fold, especially if you have one hand on the handlebar and another on the car seat of your child. You'll also need remove the rear seat from its base to fold the stroller, which can take longer than other double strollers that we tested. Thankfully, the company has updated the Vista to work with its new car seat adapters. The updated version (which will be available in April 2023) will work with both the original and updated adapters in both positions and it will even fold with two adapters at the same time.
Another option for families with twins is the Joovy TwinRoo+, our most popular infant car seat twin stroller frame. It can be used with a variety of car seats and both babies can be sat in their infant carriers simultaneously. It's a long-time favorite of parents who drive smaller cars and its clever design reduces the overall length to fit better in some compact trunks. The seats are comfortable and padded, and they can be reclined to various positions by pressing a button. The buckles were among the most simple to secure and remove in our tests.
The only issue with the TwinRoo+ is that its bench seat is designed for a large child who is at least 2 1/2 years old--so it's not suitable for twins or siblings who are close in age. It's still a great option for families that want to run and the durable structure means it won't deteriorate as fast as other tandems.
Wheel Suspension
The suspension of the wheel of a twin stroller with car seats is an important feature because it helps to make it more comfortable for your kids. This is especially true when you're walking on bumps and rough terrain. Strollers that have suspension usually come with larger wheels and shocks. The more shocks a stroller is equipped with the smoother its ride.
In addition to being simple to steer, a good wheel suspension can make a twin stroller with car seats more robust. It will allow it to last longer, which is great if you plan on using it for multiple children or for a long amount of time.
One of the best twin strollers with car seats for infants comes with excellent suspension for the wheels, and it's a model that's been around long enough: the Baby Trend Snap-N-Go Double. It has many features that parents love, such as two cup holders, an integrated parent console that has a cup holder, and a large storage bin. It has a height adjustable handle that can be useful for taller parents.
Another option that is popular for twins who have infant car seats is the Chicco BravoFor2. It is a sit-and-stand stroller that can be used with one infant car seat in the front or as a twin stroller. It is packed with storage space and is relatively compact when folded. It has some nice extras, such as magnetic crotch belts that can be opened and closed with one hand.
single to double pushchair comes with a 5-point harness, which is important as it will keep your children safe in the event of an accident. This feature isn't always found on strollers but should be an essential feature for families with toddlers or infants.
The Contours Options Elite V2 is another top choice for twin strollers that accommodate carseats. It comes with all the features we love, including recline with one hand and reversible seating as well as padding that compresses on both seats, adjustable leg rests, a zippered extension on both canopy, and a large storage. It also features height-adjustable handle and a new seat design to make it easier to reverse seats on the move.
Canopy
A quality canopy will keep your children shielded from the sun or rain Some models come with extra features such as the peek-a-boo window or the adjustable handles. One of our most popular choices is the BravoFor2. It BravoFor2 features an adjustable front seat that buckles at the waist and shoulder, making it easy for a single person to take both children out. The bench seat can only be used by children who are at least 2 1/2 years old, so it is not suitable for twins or smaller siblings. We liked the fact that it folds down into a compact size and has a handle on both sides to help move it to your car.
Some parents prefer a double stroller that can be used side-by-side because it is less likely to create sibling conflicts. These strollers allow you to see both children at the same time which makes it easier for parents to supervise and converse with them. The downside is that side-byside strollers are usually heavier and longer than single models.
If you're looking for a light option, our budget choice is the Baby Trend Double Snap-N-Go, is a low-cost and highly rated option. It can accommodate two infant car seats, and the latest version lets the seats face either way. The latest model is more compact than the previous model, however it still weighs more and is wider than the Joovy TwinRoo+.
Jeep's Urban Glide 3 is our top-rated twin-jogger that parents enjoy jogging. It can hold one car seat at a given time. It can also be used with 23 different car seat brands using an adapter that clicks in, even though it doesn't come with an infant carrier integrated. It's a sturdy, well-constructed stroller that can carry big loads without straining. Also, we loved how the handles can be adjusted to suit your height.
If you have two kids who are the same age, you may want a sit-and-stand model such as the Joovy Twin Roo+. It can accommodate two infant car seats, or one toddler seat. It also comes with a platform for older children to stand on. It's more expensive than our budget stroller however, it's manufactured by a small, family-owned business with a great customer service.
Seating
If you're thinking of using car seats for infant twins the stroller that supports these seats is essential. Many of our top-scoring double strollers are compatible with car seat adapters, which makes them compatible with most popular brands. The UPPAbaby Vista v2 Double stroller can accommodate two car seats. The Joovy Twin Roo+ can accommodate one car seat and the bassinet. We recommend strollers that are compatible with multiple infant car seats due to the fact that you can shop from a wide range of prices and not be locked to one brand.
You'll need to decide if you prefer a tandem or side-by-side stroller. A twin stroller with a side-by-side configuration is more traditional and easier to maneuver, particularly in narrow spaces and over curbs. A tandem stroller, on the other hand it can be more unstable and requires more space between the seats. The different seat heights could result in a fight between siblings.
We've discovered that there are numerous stroller options for families with twins in the infant stage or children of the same age. The Baby Trend Sit N' Stand double stroller, for example, is a highly rated option and compatible with car seats. Parents can transfer their babies from their vehicle to the double stroller in comfort.
The stroller's rear and front storage baskets are large as well. These baskets are great for storing all your essentials, including diaper bags, extra clothes and backpacks. The front storage also has a compartment for your phone and keys. The baskets are made of mesh to keep objects from falling, meaning you don't have to search around to find them.
Another option that is budget-friendly is the Evenflo Pivot Xpand Double stroller, which offers a similar versatility to some of our more expensive award winners. Its seats can be transformed into two toddler seats or modified bassinets. They can also be used with two infant car seats. This makes it a great option for twins from birth until early childhood.
