Four Stupid Mistakes That Can Kill Your Netbook Battery


Different models come with different battery needs. Some cordless drills come with one battery while others will have two or more. If you plan to use your cordless drill for extended periods of time, then it is important to go for tool that comes with more than one battery. It can be very frustrating to experience dead batteries when you are in the middle of an important project. Waiting for hours and hours for the battery to charge up when you are running out of time is an exasperating situation. If you fancy a cordless drill that has one battery, ask for additional batteries you can purchase and keep just in case you need them. Be sure to include that in the cost when you are comparing them.

Lithium-ion Batteries are great but you will find that they differ in performance from one manufacturer to another. For example, Bosch claims that its batteries run longer and can be charged more times than competing batteries. Can they? I don't know but I do know that Bosch offers a great warranty --battery replacement for up to two years.

Use the battery. Li-Ion safety circuits do a lot of great things to keep it in good condition, but they're going to go south if you don't use them. There is no wonder they're stored charged to half-capacity. If you most often use your netbook using AC power while you're at home, make sure that you let it run to the point where windows gives critical battery level warning at least two or three times a week.

For instance, I personally use a Makita 18V lithium-ion impact drill and it takes fifteen minutes to charge as opposed to my standard 18V Dewalt drill.
