The Best Shark Robot Vacuum
Shark's robo-vac ticks most of the features you'd expect from a mid-range machine. It is reliable in cleaning and a user-friendly mobile app and produces precise home maps.
It also provides Matrix Clean navigation, a system that allows two passes going back and forth, before moving side to side for complete coverage. Its base is bagless unlike many other robot vacuums.
1. Roborock S4
This is a top-quality robot vacuum for floors that are not clean that sucks up debris and has a huge dirt storage compartment. Its smart pathing works very well, and the app lets users to control cleaning and docking. The app also provides an easy overview of your cleaning needs, which includes maps of the areas that the S4 has been cleaned, cleaning duration and battery life.
Its maximum suction of 2,000Pa is high enough to lift an AA battery off the floor and rivals that of some full-sized vacuums. With 19CFM the S4's side as well as combo brush is located more to the front than in other Roborock models, which may be a strategy to lessen the possibility of clogging.
The S4's advanced navigation system is able to digitally map a house up to four levels. It will recall the areas that it has cleaned, making it simple to set up cleaning schedules without the need to manually move the robot between rooms. You can mark certain areas as "no-go zones" to prevent the S4 from cleaning these areas.
It was able to vacuum an entire level of our home easily and was very effective on bare flooring. However, it was not successful in collecting hair from dogs which is a common issue for robotic vacuums. The only 8.5% was captured in the dustbin. The remainder was clumped together around the brushes and the suction intake.
The S4 is lighter and smaller than other Shark vacuums. This increases its maneuverability. It can make tighter turns and avoid obstacles that bog down other robots, and its low-profile design makes it easier to squeeze under furniture. It also has a better ability to navigate flooring transitions and different heights of flooring. It is able to easily reach the bottom of the stairs and is a great option for larger homes with multiple floors. The app lets you set a timer and also has an automatic control for vacuuming. It also has the ability to automatically return to its charging base to charge between cleaning cycles. It is equipped with a large battery of 5200 mAh. It can last for up to 150 minutes in standard mode, or 2691 square feet between charges.
2. Shark EZ Robot Self Emptying
This Shark robot vacuum is a great choice for pet owners who want a smart, easy-to-use machine. Its self-emptying base that is bagless is a major plus in comparison to other models that utilize disposable dirt bags in their bases. It is possible to empty the bin in the trashcan by simply taking it off it. It can be messy, but you save money on the replacement bags.
The bin itself is fairly large, meaning that the EZ Robot is capable of taking care of a lot of debris. It's also a great performer on clean floors, but it has some issues with embedded dirt on low-pile carpet. best robot vacuum for hardwood floors has decent navigation capabilities and a small footprint for the dock.
Although the EZ Robot isn't as good as the Roborock S4, it's still an excellent choice for those who want a good-performing affordable robot. It's well-built, has many automation options, and offers impressive cleaning capabilities on carpet and floors with high pile. However, floor vacuum robot are high and it comes with significant recurring costs.
The Shark robot also has a great feature: it can instantly resume the same place it left off when it returns to the docking station. This is a great feature particularly if you own a large home.
The IQ XL also comes with many other useful features. These include the ability to schedule your entire home cleaning remotely and view cleaning reports via the SharkClean App. You can also use voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to start or stop cleaning sessions. Its row-by-row cleaning mode is a big plus as it is able to clean your entire house in neat rows instead of a snake-like pattern that is back-andforth like many other robots.
The IQXL's main drawback is its inability to climb over obstacles like power cords, which it could consider solid barriers and not climb over. It's also less effective or quick in navigating a space when it's full of pet hair. This can tangle the brushes and slow it.
3. Shark AI Robot
This is a great robotic vacuum from Shark that comes with a variety of features. It has a self-emptying base that can hold up to 30 days of debris and combine the cleaning power of a robot vacuum and a mop. It comes with a matrix grid cleaning mode, and it is equipped with advanced smart home integration that supports Alexa and Google Assistant. You can set it up to clean on a set schedule or on demand or create virtual boundaries to keep it from entering rooms that have fragile items or rugs.
The Shark AI Robot carries out an impressive task of cleaning floors, picking up debris like rice easily. It has a difficult time getting rid of bulky, large debris from low pile carpets and is not able to move around furniture that is large. It does have a quiet mode, which means you can program it to work when you're at home, and it won't interrupt your daily routine.
It also uses LiDAR to map your home. This allows it to locate and navigate around obstructions more precisely than devices that rely solely upon gyroscopes or infrared sensor. This helps it avoid crashing into delicate objects, and optimize dirt collection on various surfaces. The LiDAR system also performs faster than gyroscopes, which can cause the robot slow down and lose control when it comes into contact with uneven surfaces.
It's got a lot of other options, including the ability to control mopping with a remote, an automatic system, and multiple vacuum modes. It is able to recharge and charge itself while working. Its biggest drawback is that it will only trace the floor of your home If you have two stories it will be necessary to manually transport it to those areas during the first run, and then program it to repeat.
Another negative is that it can be quite loud, particularly in mopping mode. It also has a lot of parts that need to be cleaned or replaced regularly which increases its ongoing costs. Fortunately, the base self-empty feature helps cut down on certain expenses, and it's compatible with bagless filters, which further lowers its annual costs.
4. Shark ION Robot RV700 Series
The Shark ION Robot RV700 Series fulfills all the requirements you'd expect from a mid-range robot vacuum, with high-quality cleaning performance and a superb mobile app that creates accurate maps of your home. The bagless base eliminates the need to purchase new dust bags each year. In our cleaning test it was able to eliminate 97.8 percent of the debris from hardwood and low-pile flooring, but it wasn't quite as effective with high-pile carpeting. Its ability to maneuver makes it easy to maneuver through furniture and even climb onto flooring with high pile. It is also able to traverse over objects like electrical cords and rug fringes without getting stuck.
Its helix-pattern high-tensile bristles are strong enough to handle and untangle long hair, string and other fibers and the brushroll comes with a retractable edge that can be utilized when it encounters obstacles. Its slender design allows it to glide over furniture and proximity sensors allow it to adjust and evaluate the obstacles. It can be activated to begin cleaning with a press of a button or scheduled for a daily schedule by using the app. Its noise levels are average, but it can be slowed down with a do-not-disturb feature or a custom-designed scheduling.
The RV700 is more manual than the Roborock S4 and iRobot Roomba j7+, which is to be expected from a self-emptying model. It's nevertheless more durable and simpler to maintain. It charges faster and eliminates more dirt from high pile and floors that are bare. Its navigation system is able to create virtual boundaries, recognize and avoid obstacles, and also create virtual borders. This makes it the best option for robotic cleaners that you can "set and forget".
The RV700 Series doesn't have a the cliff sensor, which prevents it from falling down a flight of stairs, which can be a problem for people living in homes that are taller. It's also not able to mop and vacuum simultaneously and requires you to switch between two modes in its application. The RV700 Series offers a cheaper alternative to more sophisticated Roborock and iRobot robots with self-emptying features and cliff detection. Its biggest selling point is that it can be emptied and recharged while at its base, which makes it an ideal choice for those who don't want to deal with the inconvenience of emptying the dustbin after every use.
