What You Should Be Focusing On Improving Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

Whether you've got carpet that is high or low-pile, there's a robot vacuum for you. These intelligent appliances can navigate through your home, pick up dirt and clean under furniture.

They are equipped with advanced features, like mapping, which help them navigate through your home and help you remember where furniture is located. They can also increase suction power to tackle dirtier surfaces.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 by iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that is able to work on carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has a decent suction and can clean up most debris, though it isn't able to handle bigger debris like sand or rice. It does a good job cleaning pet hair but isn't as strong against knots as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.

The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has a trio of buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' initiates a cleaning cycle, 'Dock' puts it back into its charging station, and 'Spot Clean' activates an targeted clean. You can control it using an app on your smartphone that lets you to schedule cycles, stop and start the cycle and change settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a little slower than others, but it's still able reach most corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin which is ideal for reducing the frequency with which you must empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which allows you to make the robot avoid certain areas, or even stop cleaning completely to stop it from getting stuck.

While it's not the best model in its price range but it's far superior to other alternatives. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it is able to clean both low-pile and bare carpets. It also follows a more efficient cleaning path and has a longer battery life. It also feels better-made and has fewer components that require regular maintenance, costs less to maintain over its life and charges more quickly than the 694.

It is also worth considering other models within the iRobot range, including the v7 or 981. The 981 and v7 are more expensive, but offer significant improvements in cleaning performance both on bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment and charge faster, move more easily and are easier to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does a good job on low-pile carpet and hard flooring. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges, and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also excels at cleaning dirt embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ's tiny footprint for docks and the self-emptying feature are both nice features. If you want to change the floor levels or set no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, but it isn't equipped with no-go zones. These are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing technology permits for better maneuverability, and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective however it can be stuck on the tassels of the rug.

In our tests, we found that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to eliminate the majority of hair on bare floors, and a fair amount on medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets, where it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was capable of maneuvering the legs of chairs and tight spaces, as well as the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. It was slower on flooring that was not fully covered however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots that we test.

The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin, lasts longer on a charge, and does a better job of moving itself over obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can clean up sticky debris. On the other side the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and can even create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to even resume cleaning from the point it started if it has run out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can be controlled by voice, which is a major benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most feature-rich models, but it does offer excellent cleaning power for an affordable price. This vacuum was designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't require a complicated mapping system, or even an application to control it. This robot can last for more than an hour. It includes an remote control, a cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

best robot vacuum mop combo is slim and sleek, with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic finished to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more industrial and utilitarian.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was very effective in removing larger debris and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it was unable to give medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is capable to hit furniture and people in its course. However, it can detect obstacles with sensors. If it encounters them it halts and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get it back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the Eufy11S. It allows you to set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction force based on the floor type and the amount of the mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you'd like it to go.

Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the area you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that can limit the time spent on each area to just 20 minutes. This will extend battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling fashion cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also outstanding. It is able to remove small particles like rice effortlessly and doesn't lose suction efficiency even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens, keeping your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need additional filters or a vacuum bag.

It's not as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's great for tackling stains and deep cleaning. It has two front cameras that provide a live feed to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It has a huge bin, a long running time and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

In contrast to other robots, unlike most other robots, Complete C1 can switch between two powerheads, a standard one and a turbo head to suit different flooring types. The turbo head is best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting while the standard powerhead is ideal for floors with no flooring and light rug. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system, which allows it to easily adjust to different kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on both carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can get into difficult spots. It has five levels of surface adjustment as well as a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that cycles back and forth over the same area three times to ensure the best cleaning possible and a self-emptying trash bin that can be empty at the press of one button. The noise level of this model is greater than other models. However its powerful motor of 1,200 watts and sturdy construction make it worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay a little more then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is an excellent all-around robot vacuum. It is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It has a better performance on all floors and is more solidly constructed and comes with a HEPA filter.
