Notes

The world is advancing rapidly, with the revolution of mobile phones to the development of huge ships such as the Knock Nevis oil tanker. This could not have been possible without the strong minds of engineers to plan and materialize ideas. However, I believe that there are still much more to discover and to create. As such, I want to become a chemical engineer because I would want to be a part of this family. A family that innovates and progresses on, leading to the betterment of mankind. The whole idea of coming together as a team of dedicated engineers to make an idea happen, to see your work come to life, is nothing but gratification for me. As a child, I had always been fascinated with refineries and factory processes. The streamline processes, machinery efficiency and the various roles each machine plays in the processing chain fills me with awe. It drives me to not only learn how they work, but also what I can do to maximize the efficiency of the process, from the output rate to the environmentally-friendly aspect of it.

I know that this course revolves around the fundamentals of Mathematics and Science, hence I decided to further my knowledge by enrolling in the Australian Mathematics Competition and also the Singapore Math Olympiad, where I underwent courses to understand Mathematics in a greater detail.
