The Best Shark Robot Vacuum
Shark's robot vacuum checks most of the boxes you'd expect from a mid-range machine. It provides reliable cleaning performance, as well as an easy to use mobile application. It also produces accurate home maps.
It also comes with Matrix Clean navigation, a system that allows two passes going back and forth before moving from side to side to provide complete coverage. The base is also bagless, unlike many other robot vacuums.
1. Roborock S4
This is an excellent robot vacuum designed for floors with no floor that sucks up debris and has a large dirt storage. The app lets you control cleaning and docking. Its smart pathing feature is extremely efficient. good robot vacuum provides a convenient cleaning overview including maps of the areas that the S4 has been cleaned, the cleaning duration, and battery life.
The S4's maximum suction is 2,000Pa, which is comparable to some full-sized vacuums. The S4's side brush and combo brush are located closer to the front of the machine than the other Roborock models. This may be to reduce the possibility of clogging.
The S4's advanced mapping system can map a home up to four levels deep. best robot vacuum and mop will also remember the areas that it has already cleaned. This makes it easy to create a cleaning schedule, without having to manually move robots around rooms. You can even mark off zones that are not allowed to enter, which will prevent the S4 from entering those spaces during a cleaning session.
It was able to clean the entire floor of our house with ease and was very effective on floors that were not paved. However, it was not successful in collecting hair from dogs that is a common problem for many robotic vacuums. Only 8.5% of the dog hair it picked up was kept in the dustbin and the majority was clumped in the suction inlet and brushes.
The S4 is smaller and lighter than other Shark vacuums. This increases its maneuverability. It can make tighter turning and avoid obstacles that slow other robots. The low-profile design also makes it easier to place under furniture. It also has improved climbing capabilities to traverse flooring transitions and various heights of flooring. It can easily get to the bottom of stairs and is a good choice for larger homes with multiple floors. The app lets you set a schedule, and comes with an automatic vacuum control. It is also able to return to its charging station to charge automatically between cleaning cycles. It has the largest battery, 5200 mAh that can last for 150 minutes in the standard mode or 2691 square foot between charges.
2. Shark Easy Robot Self-Empty
This Shark robot vacuum is a great choice for pet owners who need an easy-to-use, smart machine. The self-emptying bagless base is a great convenience, especially compared to other vacuums that have disposable dirt bags in their bases. It is easy to remove the bin and then empty it over the trash can. This may be messy, but it also saves you money on bags to replace.
The bin itself is quite large, which means that the EZ Robot is capable of handling a large amount of debris. It also works well on floors that are unfinished. However, it has a difficult time with dirt that is embedded in low-pile carpet. It's got good navigation capabilities and a tiny footprint.
The EZ Robot may not be as efficient as Roborock S4, but it is still a great option for those who are looking for a robot that will perform well and is affordable. It's built well, comes with many features for automation, and boasts outstanding cleaning performance on carpet and floors with high pile. Its maintenance requirements are high and its ongoing costs are high.
Another great feature of this Shark robot is its capacity to recharge and resume automatically where it was when it returns to its docking station following an entire cleaning session. This is a great feature, especially if you have an extensive home.
The IQ XL also comes with various other useful features. These include the ability to schedule your entire home cleaning remotely and view cleaning reports via the SharkClean App. You can also use voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to start or stop cleaning sessions. The row-by-row cleaning mode of the robot is a huge benefit and it also cleans your entire home in neat rows instead of the back-and-forth snake design of many other robots.
The IQ XL's biggest drawback is its inability to climb over obstacles like power cords, which it could identify as solid barriers and avoid climbing over. It's not as fast or effective at navigating rooms that are stuffed with pet hair, which could cause brushes to get caught and slow it down.
3. Shark AI Robot
This is a great robotic vacuum from Shark that offers a combination of features. It has an elongated base that can hold up to 30 days of debris, and it also combines the cleaning power of a robot mop and a vacuum cleaner. It comes with a matrix grid cleaning mode, and is equipped with advanced smart home integration that supports Alexa and Google Assistant. It is possible to schedule it to clean, activate it at any time or create virtual boundaries to stop the robot from entering rooms that contain fragile items or rugs.
The Shark AI Robot carries out a fairly thorough job of cleaning bare floors, picking up dirt like rice with ease. It isn't able to removing large, bulky debris from carpets with low pile and is not able to move around furniture with large dimensions. It has a do not disturb feature which allows you to use it at home without it disrupting your daily routine.
It also makes use of LiDAR to map your home. This lets it identify and navigate obstacles more precisely than devices that rely on gyroscopes alone or an infrared sensor. This lets it avoid hitting fragile objects and to optimize dirt collection on different surfaces. The LiDAR system also performs faster than gyroscopes. This can cause the robot to slow down and lose control when it comes into contact with uneven surfaces.
Other features include the remote control, automated mopping, and various vacuum modes. It is able to charge and recharge itself while working. The biggest issue is that it only maps only one floor. If you have two floors it's going to need to be manually carried to those areas, and then programmed to repeat.
Another drawback is that it can be quite loud, particularly in mopping mode. It also has a lot of parts that must be changed or cleaned regularly, which increases its recurring cost. Fortunately, the self-empty feature helps cut down on the costs associated with these items and is compatible with bags-free filters, which reduces the annual cost.
4. Shark ION Robot RV700 Series
The Shark ION Robot RV700 Series ticks all the boxes you would expect from a mid-range robotic vacuum, including high-quality cleaning capabilities and a fantastic mobile app that can create precise home maps. It also comes with a bagless base which eliminates the need for annual replacement dust bags. In our test of cleaning performance, it was able to remove 97.8% of debris from carpeting and hardwood floors although it wasn't as effective with high-pile carpeting. Its maneuverability is sturdy and it is able to maneuver around furniture, climb on high-pile carpeting and go over objects like rug tassels, electrical cords, and rug tassels without getting stuck.
The bristles that are high-tensile and in a helix pattern are durable enough to untangle and manage long hair, string, and other fibers. The brushroll has an adjustable side that can be used if it comes across an obstacle. Its slim design permits it to slide under furniture and proximity sensors enable it to adapt and analyze the presence of obstacles. It can be activated to start cleaning with a press of a button or scheduled on a daily basis using the app. It is quiet at a moderate level, however it can be quieted by using the do not disturb mode or the custom scheduling.
The RV700 is more manual than the Roborock S4 or iRobot Roomba J7+. This is to be expected from the fact that it does not self-empty. It is still more durable and easier to maintain. It charges faster and removes more dirt from high pile and unfinished floors. Its navigation system is able to create virtual boundaries, and also detect obstacles which makes it the ideal choice for "set it and forget it" robotic cleaners.
The RV700 Series does not have a cliff-sensor to stop it from falling down stairs. This could be a problem for those who live in houses that are taller. It's not able to mop and vacuum at the same time and you must switch between modes within the app. The RV700 Series offers a cheaper alternative to more advanced Roborock and iRobot robots that come with self-emptying capabilities and cliff detection. Its primary selling point is the fact that it can be recharged and emptied when docked at its base. This makes it a perfect option for those who do not want to empty the onboard dustbin each time they use it.
