The Double Umbrella Stroller Awards: The Best, Worst, And The Most Unlikely Things We've Seen
Choosing a Double Umbrella Stroller

When you are looking for a double umbrella stroller, it is important to consider your family's requirements and priorities. This will simplify your options and let you concentrate on the essential features.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 double umbrella stroller is a well-made, high-end product that folds easily. It comes with large umbrellas and large storage containers. It is also very easy to maneuver.

Lightweight

The top double umbrella strollers are compact and light, yet offer a lot. They're not as heavy as a typical stroller or jogger and are usually smaller when folded. They lack the bells and whistles that are found on full-size strollers, but they often provide large canopies and ample storage space, and reclining seats.

Many families choose a lightweight double umbrella stroller because it's a great stroller for traveling. It's easy to fold, fits in the majority of trunks and carry-on bags, and is an excellent choice for getting around the narrow streets and narrow doors. It's cheaper than an extra-featured "travel stroller" that you could use for your daily walks.

Some of the top double strollers, such as the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 have features that aren't found on lighter options. This double umbrella stroller features hanging storage pockets with tray for snacks and toys in each seat, and two cupholders for parents. Its sleek design makes it one of the smallest double umbrella strollers on the market, when folded. It also features a large canopy to protect both seats.

Other options that are lightweight such as the Joovy Kooper X2, have more bells and whistles that you would expect from a double umbrella stroller, such as a more comfortable ride for both children because of the padded seating and a deeper recline in each seat. The more features you choose the more weighty the stroller. pushchair twin is also important to be careful that your child doesn't catch their fingers on the hinges or frames of these strollers due to the way they open and close.

Compact

The smallest double umbrella strollers that fold are easy to maneuver and can be tucked away in tight spaces. These strollers are a great choice for parents who will often use them on sidewalks, shopping malls or to navigate tourist attractions like the zoo or aquarium. These compact strollers that are lightweight are also ideal for commutes or as a backup to a heavier, more feature-packed stroller when traveling.

There are two general styles of double umbrellas that are lightweight one of which is one with a limited number of features, and those that provide numerous convenience and comfort features in addition to their small size and light weight. Some of the better examples are large pop-out canopies with SPF 50 and a peekaboo windows and cushioned seats, 5-point safety harnesses in both seats as well as reclining seats and adjustable leg rests. It is also important to consider whether you want an attachment for your car seat as well as a tray for parents and the amount of storage space available in each seat.

The Delta Children LX Double Umbrella provides a lightweight, low-cost umbrella that is extremely affordable. This stroller weighs only 18 lbs and includes a handy carrying strap to carry it around. It fits easily into the trunk of your car, or a front hall closet when it is not in use. The front wheels feature precision technology and swivel, providing smooth riding and easy steering. Another highly recommended option is the new Kinderwagon Hop, a super narrow tandem umbrella stroller that's also light and easy to maneuver through doorways. The model was out of the market for a couple of years, but is returning to production and is worth checking out. It also comes with a larger three-panel canopy to provide better sun protection than the less-than-perfect models in this review.

Easy to Fold

The simplest umbrella strollers collapse like umbrellas and weigh much less than other kinds of strollers. They are easy to lift, carry and store when you don't need or need to bring your larger stroller due to a reason (traveling on an airplane, traveling in an unfamiliar city, or visiting grandma). These strollers are often less well-equipped than fully-featured models, but they will provide the basic features, such as storage and a sun canopy.

The most recent version of the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is lighter and narrower than its predecessor, with an improved front wheel design that enhances the maneuverability and pushability. It's a great choice for a double travel stroller--and it's Disney-approved!

A double tri-folded stroller, such as the Joovy Kooper X2 offers all the convenience and ease of use of an umbrella stroller within a body similar to a large-sized stroller. This kind of stroller is replacing the standard double umbrella stroller. It may be your best choice if looking for a lightweight, versatile stroller.

The majority of double umbrella strollers we recommend are side-by-side models. The Kinderwagon Hop is an umbrella tandem stroller that is lightweight, easy to fold and quite narrow. This is a great choice if you want a simple, cheap double umbrella stroller you can easily toss into your trunk for quick trips. It even has two storage bags hanging from the sides of each seat, as well as cup holders for parents. It's so bare bones that it's not going to get your kids through an airport without causing them to be cranky, but it will help make the journey more enjoyable.

Comfortable Seats

The majority of umbrella strollers don't come with a lot of bells and whistles since they only have one goal: to transport two children from A to B. This means they typically have seats that are comfortable and roomy, but don't have reclining options or wheels that are all-terrain.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is the exception. It's a surprisingly light and compact double umbrella stroller with two seats that weigh less than 18 pounds each, which makes it an ideal choice for those who travel (it meets Disney size requirements). It has a large canopy with three panels that shields children from sun. Both seats come with plenty of storage but not like some of our top picks. It also has the important 5-point safety harnesses in both seats as well as windows that peek out in their canopy.

The only downside to the G-Link is that it lacks the belly bar and snack tray that we love to see in our top picks, but they aren't necessary features for an umbrella stroller in the first place. As with any umbrella stroller, it should be handled with care so fingers, whether your own or children's get trapped in the hinges that fold up the frame and mechanisms.

In most double umbrella strollers with seats, they are side-byside. However, there are models with inline seating (one seat that is placed in front of the other). Inline models are more easy to navigate through doorways than side by side models, but their seating arrangements could cause your kids to argue over which is the best seat. This issue was pretty evenly divided among our previous testers and it comes down to a personal choice.

Safety

The safety of your children is a primary consideration when selecting a stroller and the design of double umbrella strollers can make or break the quality of its operation. While it's hard to find a lightweight double stroller that can provide the same level of safety as full-sized strollers, some models do come close. These strollers typically have 5-point harnesses with foot rests, calf and calf straps for the kids, and an extendable UPF 50+ sun visor. They are typically also narrower and lighter than other double umbrella strollers which makes them easier to maneuver in tight spaces like airports or streets in cities.

Some models, like the Kinderwagon Hop are side-byside and are easy to push in small spaces. This stroller is perfect for parents who are traveling with young kids and who need a convenient and fast way to get around. It's also compact enough to easily fit into the trunk or in a storage space.

Another model worth considering is the UPPAbaby G-Link 2, which is among the most lightweight double umbrella strollers we have tested. It is surprisingly sturdy design for an umbrella-style product. It also features an enormous, easily accessible storage basket as well as reclining chairs and an open window. The seat can also hold 35 pounds. and is in line with Disney stroller requirements.

Other models, such as the Jeep PowerGlide Double Stroller, may be more basic in design and do not include as many features. However these strollers are very lightweight and can be used as a backup or for occasional travel needs. They are also less expensive than renting one for a complete vacation or for a trip. They are easy to fold, lift, carry, and stow away.
